“ok place to stay in London”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

5 min walk from Paddington station (end station from Heatrow airport), you'll find Elysee hotel. The area is quiet and boring, but it is not far to Oxford street, Regent street ++. Located 100 meteres from Hyde park, it is worth a try.
The rooms are small, and not very clean, but ok. The breakfast was also ok, but nothing more.
Price is also not very high, so in total I was satisfied. The tube are not far away, and takes you to downtown London in few minutes.

Room Tip: Don't accept the rooms in lower ground floor... without windows, and very small, you can better...

“Great place to stay in London”

My sister-in-law and my mother and I stayed her recently on a quick tour of London. The hotel was clean, warm and in a great location! The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. They helped us book our tours and our transportation back to the airport. They also accomodated every request we had. They were super friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel is in a great location for all sites. We bought the hop on, hop off tickets on the bus and had a terrific tour of all the important venues, including Buckingham Palace. There's also a terrific pub just across the street from the hotel, with great food and super friendly staff. I would go back and stay there again for sure! Oh and the free breakfast was super!

“Tiny rooms, but great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

The good

1. Great location. Walking distance from Hyde Park, Oxford and Regeant Street.
2. A lot of restaurants around with various cuisines like Indian, Italian and the typical english pubs.
3. Very clean hotel. The bathrooms were clean which is the most important part.

The bad -

1. Tiny Tiny rooms. Barely enough place to do anything by sleep.
2. Bathrooms are too small. If you bend in the shower cubicle, parts of your body will touch the cold sides of the shower cubicle.
3. Pretty expensive for such a hotel. I paid 125 Euro a night which in many other countries would get me a 5 star deluxe hotels, but I undertand London is a really expensive.
4. The breakfast was the same every day. Scrambeled eggs, boiled eggs, toast, bakes beans, coffee, cheese, butter, juices and cereals. It is the same every day. I wish there was some suasages and bacon.
5. Rooms facing the road, attract noises from the pub opposite.

All in all, a fair experience. the location was just super. You can just walk from Paddington station to the hotel. It is about a 8 to 10 minute walk.

Room Tip: Get rooms that do not face the main road.

“£92 for a morning wake up call”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011 via mobile

Not a bad small single room on first impression. I stay in many hotel rooms all over the world on holiday and for work, so I'm not fickle.
No coffee in the welcome tray only tea, but I was tired on arrival so could not be bothered asking the Indian looking fella on reception.
Bed was noisy and almost not comfy for my 6ft mass. But I slept.
However at 6am I was woken by the bathroom extract fan, then hairdryer and toilet flush etc, from either side of my room. Being woke 1.5 hrs earlier than I planned defeated my plan of booking a hotel room within 1 mile of my London meeting. And I did tell the hotel in the morning.

“My recent stay at Elysee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Returning from a trip abroad and before heading home for Kent, we decided to spend a couple of days in London. We had booked a room facing the Hyde park at Elysee, as we had stayed at this hotel before and had done our homework on hotel rates in this area. The location of this hotel is ideal for us and it's only a ten min walk from the Heathrow Express terminal at Paddington Station.
Everything that we require in a good budget hotel was catered for: clean and comfortable ensuite rooms (albeit small, but hey, this is London) with tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, in room safe (a must for me) and the welcoming AC which was utilised to the full during the unexpected heat wave in london.
We found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable, especially the tall blonde lady at the front desk (sorry, I can't recollect her name, but this may be due to my old age!)
I am not one for a full English breakfast, but here, it seems adequate: cereals, scrambled eggs and toast with tea/coffee.....but I must say that the breakfast room could do with some upgrading, it looks a bit tired. So does the bar, which lacked an atmosphere, but this was not an issue with me - there's a traditional English pub right across the road and they pull a lovely pint!!
Overall, a great improvement since we last stayed here and would most certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Room at the back are quieter and ask for room facing the park
