“Great location for transportation links”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2011

I needed easy access to King's Cross and Piccadilly lines (arriving from Heathrow, leaving on Eurostar), so this hotel was in a great location. Very basic, decent breakfast, but breakfast room is too small for number of guests so often had to wait. Desk clerks very friendly and helpful. No phone in room, which became a problem when my wallet/passport was stolen while travelling on the Tube. Free wireless Internet connection was good.

“Don't bother - especially if you have allergies”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

The photos are very misleading! We were unwelcomed at reception, the room was tiny (barely space on either side of the bed and had to hop over the corner of the bed to reach the other side), lamp in the room didn't work, the TV was pointless and the window had to be closed at night due to noise which meant no air all night. Don't stay here if you want to sleep. Also don't stay here if you are allergic to feathers - oddly for such a dump all rooms have feather pillows and there is no option to change them.
The only good point is the location very near St Pancras.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

One would not choose this hotel for anything else apart from location. Kings Cross is a 2 minute hop, no taxi or other means of transport needed. Not much more than a bed to sleep in, breakfast was al-right. Although it was really noizy outside, with the single glazing windows not doing any favours, I slept really well just because I was absolutely exhausted. The hotel is in dire need of TLC. I would suggest to the management to close it down for a facelift, change of colours and they would probably be able to charge a lot more. A good place if you have business in Kings Cross or a train to catch, otherwise below average.

“Can't get any sleep! AWFUL!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2011

Extremely small, a little bit dirty, but most of all, you can't get any rest here because there is a noise of the pipes in the walls that will keep you up all night! Even if you are exhausted and you think you'll fall asleep eventually, you won't! It can wake the dead people...

“Pile of poop”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2011

Shared bathroom for a whole floor (around 10-15 people) - 1 toilet, 2 showers. The toilet wasn't cleaned for at least a day, and when we arrived there it was blocked from somebody's diarrhoea. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the paper thin walls meant you could hear anything the people next door were saying or watching on the TV. Breakfast was adequate - greasy but filling. We only stayed for two nights, but after the first we were contemplating reserving a room at another hotel. Great location right outside King's Cross & St. Pancras, however you get far less than what you pay for. Holes and tears in the bed sheets, and a blood stain from a previous guest on the curtain, along with no changing/washing of towels truly shows the care and attention the owners and employers put in to keeping the hotel running.
