I can not understand the review below referring to the welcome of the owners as 'glacial'. They couldn't be further from that description.
I booked 2 nights at 4 Highbury Terrace in September for my Mum and Grandma when they came to visit me in London. Living in Highbury myself I was happy to find somewhere for them to stay nearby and I was not disappointed. The rooms are clean, bright and functional. The location is beautiful and very easy to get into central London from.
The owners were extremely friendly and made my family feel very welcome in their home. They really enjoyed their stay there and have said they would recommend it to their friends as a great place to stay in London. A nice change from the usual over priced hotels I have had to put them up in before.

great location, beautiful old georgian house, simply if slightly quaintly decorated, however its very clean so cant be faulted...the owners however could really do with an injection of warmth, they were rather glacial........We really felt like we were not welcome (and weren't interested in small talk, just check in!). a tiny smile goes a long way. Not sure that I would recommend this place, it's fine apart from the feeling of not being welcome so it depends on how much that matters to you
