We stayed for two nights over the Christmas period, pleased to find a good quality dog friendly hotel.
We arrived on Boxing Day evening, the hotel offered a buffet menu for one hour in the evening for £19.95, it was OK, nothing special and overpriced. Perhaps, if the price had been lower, more guests would have tried it. There were three couples and one single lady dining. There were a number of guests bringing pizzas into the hotel!
One big negative on housekeeping, I found a used contraceptive wrapper at the side of the bed, reported it to Reception, who apologised, but no other comments received.
Room was excellent otherwise, it was over the restaurant entrance, which wasn't a problem, as the hotel was very quiet, it might have been on a busier night.
Breakfast was of a good standard.

We stayed when the hotel was very quiet, 2nd Jan. Polite, friendly staff for check in and out, in bar and restaurant. Good service in restaurant. Clean, comfortable bedroom. Plenty of car parking. We used the small gym which had machines, no weights. Would stay again.

Stayed here for one Saturday night just before Christmas for a family visit. Had a room on the first floor which had extra space for wheelchair users. Took the dog as this place is dog friendly.

This was a great room although I think some of the others were a lot smaller. The place was a bit noisey but it was the Saturday before Christmas and there were two functions on.

The reception staff were very good and gave us a courtesy call a few minutes after we checked in to see if everything was ok. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The grounds seemed nice and were great for excersising the dog.

The only dissappointment was breakfast service the next morning. Although there were plenty of staff things did not seem to be very organized. The buffet breakfast ran out of bacon and a long queque built up before more came out which ment all the other items on your plate were getting cold. We had to ask several different staff before getting tea and coffee. It seemed that staff did not have particular tables to look after so everyone did everything which resulted in staff being confused who had asked for what. Perhaps it was a particularly busy Sunday morning service but this let the hotel down a little.

We would go back as it was a reasonable price, accepted our pooch and is close to family.

Stayed one night recently on a DB&B basis. Efficient check in. Were upgraded to a Suite. (Had booked executive double)Nice clean room overlooking the large garden to the rear. Spotless bathroom. Comfortable bed & nice fresh smelling bed linen.Everything in the room worked. Ate in the Restaurant. Although quite spacious the restaurant wasn't overly busy but nevertheless the service was a bit on the slow side. I think there wer some issues in the kitchen. Waiting staff who were excellent conveyed apology for the delay. When the food arrived both our meals were nicely presented & were hot. Good choice of wines to go with the meal. The bottle we chose was excellent & well chilled.

Breakfast was ok with a good choice of hot & cold buffet.

The hotel in general looked to be very well maintained.

Overall a good stay with friendly & efficient staff very much in evidence.
