“Exactly what we needed, good price and central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This hotel does what it says on the tin. It was my daughter's first trip to London and we had a full schedule so wanted to stay centrally but not pay through the nose for the privilege. We booked this as part of a Theatre deal and very happy with the price.
I had booked a twin but in fact we ended up with a triple which provided us with more room and somewhere to store our luggage.
The location is actually quite peaceful, we were at the back of the hotel and the room was quiet and we slept well.
Shower room was very clean with storage.
Breakfast was perfect for fuelling our day of sightseeing and walking although I would say that the breakfast room itself is quite pokey and characterless.
All in all it filled our requirements without frills.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor at the back of the hotel.

“What a way to treat your guests!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2011

It was my daughter's 40th birthday, I booked this hotel as very central. Most things satisfactory, until on the last night, when we returned to our room, my daughter noticed some of her personal belongings had been tampered with and certain items, we believed, taken!! We took all the correct and necessary steps with a view to reporting this as soon as possible. Later the matter required to be elevated, I was given the Manager's personal mobile phone number by the company that "umbrellas Days Inn West" and at first he appeared to listen, however, it appeared as the matter became more serious, he became more verbally abusive and even threatened me with legal action on behalf of the cleaning company they use. However upon contacting the cleaning company, they informed me they did not know anything about the situation and therefore denied all knowledge of 'taking legal action against me'. I informed the Manager he was a bully and acting in a totally inappropriate manner. Unfortunately the language and mannerism that was displayed at this point, I found very frightening. I WOULD NEVER, NEVER visit this hotel again, apart from receptionist Phil all other staff were not very pleasant at all.

Room Tip: Don't even go there.

“It's ok.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This hotel is in a good position near Pimlico Underground Station and bus stops. The area is very tranquil. The hotel and our room were clean and in good condition. The room (#110) was pretty small, with a cupboard, no drawers, a desk mostly occupied by the tv set (no flat screen), and a round coffee table that just occupy the little space available. The bathroom was tiny with no shelves where you can put your toiletries.
Wi-fi is available, but it's not free. There is one public desktop computer in the lobby, and it has a coin-operated timer (£3/hr).
Continental and English breakfasts are ok and not expensive.

“Smallest room I have ever seen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

I was looking for a hotel room during quite a busy period and Days Inn seemed to provide the best value so I booked it. After I got to my room, I was somewhat shocked. The door opened INTO the bed which was covering about 95% of the room area. I should probably slightly adjust the title of my review - I might have seen a room of a similarly small size, but I have never seen anyone to jam a queen size bed into it!!!
Anyway, once I got my luggage in (a bit of an exercise considering you cannot fully open the door), i did not have too many complains. I did not need much space as I spent most of my time outdoors and came back to the hotel only to sleep. And that queen size bed was very comfy. The room provided basic amenities I expected, there was coffee and tea, small closet and TV. It was facing a backyard so it was quiet. The bathroom was ridiculously close to the top of the bed, a bit odd to sleep with your head so close to the toilet, but it was clean. There was a PC with internet connection and printing service in the lobby. Location of the hotel was very good, just a short walk to both Pimlico and Victoria tube stations. There are some shops and restaurants / take out places on the way from Pimlico station to the hotel open conveniently late.
I guess despite the initial impression, I would probably stay here again. I have certainly seen far worse :-) and let's face it, how much can you really expect for that price in this location in London?

“Just about ok”

We chose this hotel, at £120 a night, as we were attending a posh do and didn`t want to be too far away and thus incur a costly taxi ride.
Room was pokey, really a single with a double bed, the small wardrobe and lack of drawers bears this out. Bathroom had cracked floor tiles with some of the grouting between them missing. The shower screen was off its runners and the underside of the toilet seat was peeling off! There were no tissues in the holder and when I asked for some to be put in while we were out we were told that "Housekeeping had gone home until the morning!" What would have happened if someone had been sick on the reception area floor? Leave it till morning I suppose. I asked our room cleaner in the morning for some tissues but was told the hotel didn`t have any tissues! We went downstairs intending to have a drink but found the bar was closed for refurbishment, not that there was any sign of this. We ordered a taxi for 7.15 but this never turned up so we had to hail a black cab to avoid being late. Room has french doors out onto a balcony. Door catch could easily be forced and balcony is shared with 2 other rooms and only low walls separate it from 100 yards of other balconies!
