Gave this 2 stars only because I'm sure I've stayed in worse places. Fortunately we did not have the rail noises others have commented on, but.....
a) room was not made up after first night and had to get towels after it having been suggested that maybe it wa sour fault for having the do not disturn sign outside the room. Hmmmm I'm sure i would have remembered that!
b) the bathroom extractor was continually running, and seemed to be a system that vented to a (large) central extraction fan. Being near the top of the building, the fan pulls more severely tahn at lower levels,; as a result you could really hear it all the time, esp after your ears have "tuned in" to it at 2am..... result..... no sleep
c) soundinsulation between rooms virtually non existent, and creaking floorsd means that all footsteps can be heard. No silent doorclosers so all doors slam shut. I'd hate to be tehre Friday and Saturday nights when the bar is open until around 4am....
d)..... hardly the good night's sleep in the cdity they promise!
e) double glazing draughty and definitely not soundproof (by a long shot)
f) breakfast just about adequate but breakfast room too small resultimng in staff and guests falling over each other, not helped by bad layout
g) picture frame in room literally falling apart! No pride at all.
Travelodge used to be a safe bet, you knew what to expect at the budget end. That ethos seems to have disappeared.
