“Relaxing, Friendly and Comfortable”

I spent two nights in the Clarendon hotel with my family and I have to say it was really lovely. The rooms are comfortable and housekeeping staff are spot on! Breakfast was good with lots to chose from and the dinner menu is very reasonable. Reception staff are really friendly and very helpful. All in all a really nice place to stay and really good rail and other transport to near the hotel. I would definitely go back as would my other two family members.

“A Little Tired”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

My stay at the Clarendon was very pleasant although I thought the hotel looked and felt a little tired. The corridors upstairs were very narrow and not unlike a hostel in some ways. The room was quite spacious but the en-suite was very cramped, good shower (which took up much of the space) but using the basin for washing was hard work. It was however clean and the food was good, staff friendly but seemed a little reserved. I had a room at the front of the hotel with good views over the heath but the traffic noise whilst not deafening was always present. Excellent position from a tourist point of view easy walking access to Greenwich and all its attractions and Blackheath itself was a charming place. I have stayed in better and on the other hand I have stayed in much worse, it is what it is but would benefit from a lot of TLC.

“Nothing too much trouble”

I have stayed here yearly for many years when working at Excel and the staff dont change! it is remakable in this day and age to see the same smiling faces and welcome from everyone. Nothing is too much trouble.
This isnt the most modern glitzy, minimalist style hotel - but it is traditional and friendly.
Big soft duvets!!
Food first rate. Village faclities and lovely surroundings.
Highly recommended

Room Tip: I've always asked for a garden room as these overlook the garden not the maon road and so are ve...

“Very good value and great location”

Paid only £135 for a quad room on new years eve, which included ticket for bus to o2 arena and a lovely English breakfast. Room was very clean but beds a little hard with hard pillows! So take your own for comfort! The staff were very polite and helpful. A bargain for location and walking distance to a lovely shopping/eating area. Would defiantly stay here again. Close to bus stop too.

“an oasis in a desert”

I frequently stay here, having had many disappointments in the area. The hotel is quiet, comfortable and pleasant, and right on the Heath, which makes it nice for a short stroll after dinner, particularly for me as I don't walk too well. Dinner is satisfactory, although I would prefer more changes over the visits that I make, and breakfast is very much better than most.
I normally have a garden room, which is light and airy, and has comfortable chairs.
