“Stayed twice, good each time!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed here twice. Everything fine but usual basic etc. Clean and quiet!

The car park does have rats but they seem to be trying to fix this by introducing big gates to the bins! Still slightly nerve racking!

Breakfast doesn't start early enough - each time I have stayed I have had to skip breakfast as it hasn't started early enough!

Staying again soon though.

Dear Sir or Madam

Thank you very much for taking the time and the trouble to write a Trip Advisor review for Holiday Inn Express London-Limehouse.

Regrettably, our location alongside the Thames means we’re exposed to rats. Our hotel is roadside and not enclosed. Nonetheless, sightings have been infrequent and confined to the car park only. Rest assured, we always do our utmost to prevent rats from entering our grounds.

It is our goal to consistently provide superior service and accommodation and your comments are very important to us. The feedback we receive from our valued guests, like you, enables us to target problem areas and take the necessary actions to ensure similar situations can be avoided in the future. We appreciate the candid feedback we receive and welcome any opportunity to improve.

We do look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel again in the near future.

Yours faithfully,

Sam Butler

“No nonsense hotel that provides all the necessary amenities.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel on five separate occasions. I'll be here for many more. The hotel is comparatively cheap (London hotels are expensive). The rooms are fine, clean and generally in good condition. The rate includes breakfast, which is really good, though it's pretty basic fare. For IHG members (Gold or above) there is a complementary 24 hour WiFi access. For everyone else a 2 hour complementary access is provided and you pay for more.

It's situated 5 mins from the Limehouse DLR station and is well placed if you fancy a walk along the Thames (Thames Path). The Cineworld Cinema at Westferry (DLR) is a 20 minute walk away (passing by the Indian restaurant the Spice Merchant).

The hotel doesn't serve food so you have a choice of ordering a take-away (menus at reception) or visiting some of the good restaurants nearby. I can recommend La Figa (Italian) on Narrow Street and the Veranda opposite (Indian) as well as the Spice Merchant (Indian) beside Westferry DLR station. Whatever you do, don't go to the New Thai Garden as the food is poorly prepared, the place is in dire need of a proper cleaning and the service lethargic at best.

This is a good no-nonsense hotel. I'll be back for more.

Room Tip: Go for rooms with a double bed as the single beds are very narrow. Select a room facing the inside...

“Great hotel and location for single travelers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

As a single girl traveling alone in London, safety was a concern of mine. This hotel had fantastic amenities and I felt very safe at all times. The front desk staff was very helpful providing directions and recommendations when I needed them. The DLR is only a 5 minute- walk away. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to London.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front of the hotel to get a better view.

“Well located hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Typical standard of room that is expected from Holiday Inn.
Breakfast is sufficient - nothing amazing, indeed now cheese is often omitted due to some warmer items on menu.
Heating is a little erratic - all or nothing!
Good location outside of congestion zone, but close by and 5 mins to DLR...

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the front of the building - parallel to road and close to the lifts as can be noisy...

“Basic, budget and adequate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

On a noisy main road next to a concrete works. Clean, adequate facilities with no frills. Polite and helpful reception staff. Noisy at night with all sorts of 'comings and goings' in the corridors. Maybe it doesn't help that there is direct access to the hotel lifts from the ground floor lobby.
