Everything was wonderful. The location is very good.
The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, orthopedic mattress super! The staff were very nice and it was a quiet room considering the location was so close to city center . Shower and toilet small but clean. Excellent breakfast for London . Will be returning .

A lovely, budget hotel with the nicest staff !
I was meeting friends but travelling alone and felt very comfortable at The Columbus. I had a single room which was very small but no complaints - it was perfectly adequate for my needs. Brilliant location, just a couple of minutes from Paddington Station and around 20 minutes stroll to Marble Arch, plenty of places to eat and get a late night bite after a few beers ;o) Plenty of people around late at night and so I didn't feel nervous going back there by myself.
Upon my return home, the hotel called me to say that I had forgotten to claim my £5 deposit for the hire of an extra plug extension :o)
I would stay here again for a short London break.

The first impression is good and the staff is nice. He helped me to pick my luggage downstairs since there is no lift. The location is excellent. The room is a bit tiny but is reasonable for a budget hotel. Only two bad points: 1) there is only one electric plug in the room which is not sufficient. 2) A cockroach visited my room one night, and luckily it left itself after staying for 2-3 minutes.

We stayed in a triple room but I must say it was very small!! At times I had to climb over the beds to get from one side of the room to the other!! The bathroom is akin to the ones you get in the budget hotels in Europe - small! We stayed in room 104 which overlooks Sussex Gardens and has a balcony which was quite nice for sitting and watching the world go by! The staff were excellent and courteous, the breakfast, although continental, was adequate and the hotel, although a little run down and in need of refurbishment, was clean. There's tea and coffee in the room. No hairdryer, but you just need to ask at receiption and they will provide one. We have previously stayed at a hotel a few doors away from the Columbus which was far superior but so was the price! Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from Paddington Station and say twenty minutes walk to Marble Arch. Plenty of pubs and restaurants close by. If we need just a cheap few days in London again in the future, we will have no hesitation in staying again at the Columbus - you get what you pay for!!
