Let me start by saying the location is great. On the central line (shepherd's Bush station) from the station you literally just have to cross the street to get to the Hotel. Westfield is right across the street and It is my favourite shopping centre in London!
The entrance to hotel is through the bar "Belushi's" this is quite an inconvenient specially when you bringing suitcases and the bar is full of heavy drinkers. The people serving the drinks are the same people that will check you in, so take a number and wait until someone happens to see you.
The girls at the bar are quite nice and they do as much as they can to help you. There is not much I can say about the bar, since I was there briefly.
I booked a double ensuite for one night, my room number was 19 so it's was on 2nd floor or 3rd for Americans. The room was spacious quite enough for me and my friend. We checked in early afternoon and came back around 9pm.
If you are a light sleeper, you will find the bar on the ground a nightmare. The bar becomes very noisy at night and if you are on 1st floor you will have a hard time dealing with the noise. if you are on the 2nd floor you will still hear some noise, but not as bad.
In room 19 the window doesn't shut properly, so we were are forced to leave it ajar. Consequently wind comes through the window making the room really cold. There is a working radiator, but that is not enough to compensate the cold wind. There was also a portable radiator (which I thought it was odd when I came in to the room for the first time) but after discovering the broken window, it all made sense to me. The portable radiator is a fire hazard (SERIOUSLY) the damn thing doesn't work properly, it makes a horrendous noise and sparks every time you plug it in to the power point. We tried to deal with the situation by moving the bed away from the window, just to find underneath the bed some rubbish left from previous guest.
In addition to the rubbish, my friend made me aware that the toilet was dirty and I mean DIRTY, there were bit of faeces left on the toilet brim, SO that defeated the purpose of having a bathroom in the room 'cause I didn't use it at all! Let me explain the shower situation to get water pressure you have to push a button and you have to keep doing this while you shower. So one hand scrubbing and one hand pushing the button. The shower curtain had mildew all over. The hostel/hotel provides you with a towel (a corona beer towel) and if you want to get another one you must pay £10 for it. My advice to you, use your own towel. The sink which is in the room instead of the bathroom was okay.
Bed and duvet was comfortable, however, the next morning I woke up with a rashes all over my arm, forearm and neck. (see pictures attached). I had travelling plans to be at Heathrow by 9:am, so at 7:00 am we went down stairs to speak to staff, but we couldn't find anyone anywhere, even though breakfast was suppose to be served at 7:30 A.M. but there wasn't anyone there at 7:00. Obviously we didn't eat here and left.
