“Nice room, great location, good breakfast, lots of stairs”

I loved the location of this hotel, near the British Museum and easily walkable to SoHo. The tube stops are pretty convenient as well. Our room was nice. It was pretty small (which is probably normal for this neighborhood) but it was pretty efficient. However, we didn't have much luggage and so were able to just put our stuff on the floor. It seemed like the hotel was stitched together from two converted houses so I'm sure the room size and quality vary. This hotel is a walk-up so be prepared to lug the luggage up the stairs to your room.

The breakfast was included and was good-- good coffee and a good selection of hot and cold items. The staff was friendly.

I'd stay here again.

“Good value stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

My mother and I wanted a room for the night, if possible with three beds, to meet up with my niece and visit the theatre. The hotel was in a great location, the room was clean and spacious enough, with a good sized bathroom. We were a the back of the hotel which meant it wasn't at all noisy for central London. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was pretty standard but included. All in all it provided a good base at a reasonable price. Would go again.

“Good location, steep stairs, good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

No lift and the stairs are steep. Full English breakfast included in the price which, this being London, is steep. Like everywhere else in the UK, the staff were from other lands, so weren't much help for local info or tourist advice.

“A brilliant little hotel in a PERFECT location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Stayed late October for 2 nights with 3 friends. We therefore had 2 twin rooms. Both rooms were fantastic particulary my room, which was on the top floor and was therefore like the attic room with superb sloping ceilings and views of the rooftops. This room also had a bath, which our friends room on the 2nd floor didnt have. Fantastic.... to have a soak when you have done alot of walking. It was also at the back of the hotel and therefore there was no noise at all from the busy road at the front. My friends however said that they slept brilliantly in the comfy beds even though their room was at the front of the hotel on the main road.

Whilst we were there different rooms had obviously been being painted and revamped as there was often paintpots and sheets in corridors, however this didnt bother us as we were out most of the time sightseeing. Our room however had obviously been painted the day before we arrived as it smelt very strong of paint in the room. However we left the window open to solve the problem.

Breakfast was great. Choice of a few different dishes (to order as only a small hotel - more like a B&B), even ommelate which was great!

The only thing that was difficult about the hotel was the spiral staircases which could be tiring when you have to walk to the 3rd floor, however as we are fit and young this didn't bother us. However be warned is you struggle climbing stairs.

Staff were attentive when you needed them eg: for forgotton toothpaste, maps, hangers....

We would definitely stay again, especially if we could have the same room again.
