Stayed late October for 2 nights with 3 friends. We therefore had 2 twin rooms. Both rooms were fantastic particulary my room, which was on the top floor and was therefore like the attic room with superb sloping ceilings and views of the rooftops. This room also had a bath, which our friends room on the 2nd floor didnt have. Fantastic.... to have a soak when you have done alot of walking. It was also at the back of the hotel and therefore there was no noise at all from the busy road at the front. My friends however said that they slept brilliantly in the comfy beds even though their room was at the front of the hotel on the main road.
Whilst we were there different rooms had obviously been being painted and revamped as there was often paintpots and sheets in corridors, however this didnt bother us as we were out most of the time sightseeing. Our room however had obviously been painted the day before we arrived as it smelt very strong of paint in the room. However we left the window open to solve the problem.
Breakfast was great. Choice of a few different dishes (to order as only a small hotel - more like a B&B), even ommelate which was great!
The only thing that was difficult about the hotel was the spiral staircases which could be tiring when you have to walk to the 3rd floor, however as we are fit and young this didn't bother us. However be warned is you struggle climbing stairs.
Staff were attentive when you needed them eg: for forgotton toothpaste, maps, hangers....
We would definitely stay again, especially if we could have the same room again.
