“Don't stay here.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2012

The elevator was out and I had to climb 5 flights of stairs to get to my room #503. The airconditinig/heating wall unit was also out of order. I asked an employee to look into it but he never returned. The bed was actually two twin beds pushed together and I slept in the crack between them. The room key is on a extremely large key chain that cannot be carried, but left at the desk when out and about. When I returned my identity was not checked before receiving the key. Aside from these issues the room was way undersized (even by UK standards) as was the bathroom for an outrageous rate of £196 a night. Run, don't walk from this place.

Thank you ‘jimg1812’ for taking time to review your experience of our hotel.
The day you check in the lift was out of service for a service and health and safety inspection. There is nothing we can do about this as it is mandatory. The majority of guests didn’t mind and were quite pleased that we take such things seriously.
The bed you stayed in is called a ‘zip and link’ bed and is meant to be zipped together to form a double bed or unzipped to make 2 singles. These beds are widely used in hotels.
The idea behind the large key fob is to ensure the key is handed into reception when you leave the hotel. The receptionist should have asked you your name when you returned to the hotel. I have spoken with the staff about this issue and will be monitoring the situation.
The price you paid reflects the market demand at the time of booking.

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2012

Room was compact but not uncomfortable, immaculately clean, good shower room etc, awesome location between Paddington and Hyde park.

Comedy key rings to prevent guests from walking off with the door keys!

Would recommend as it is very well priced for London and much better than some far more expensive places I have stayed

“Nice, clean room and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2012

A very nice hotel for a good price, especially if you book early. It is newly renovated, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast isn't the best (at least not if you're used to a more healthy breakfast), we ate out. 24 hour reception.

“Small but clean”

I picked this hotel for the price and location. To be honest it was better than average, the hotel is being refurbished and although the twin room was small it was really clean and smelt fresh. The shower room was a decent size and there was a plug in radiator in our room, which was good to dry out some clothing due to the torrential rain. A 5 min walk from Paddington station then another 5 mins to Hyde Park, personally I like the location. The hotel itself is set in a leafy square so no busy traffic and just around the corner are some local shops and restaurants. If you like walking to see the sights we walked from the hotel through Hyde Park cut across to Park Lane then over through to Buckingham Palace, St James' park past Big Ben over to the London Eye, passing loads of monuments which was approx 4 miles. Or down through Hyde Park to the Natural History Museum and the V & A up the road to Harrods and back to hotel was approx 3ish miles. Back to the hotel...Small, clean, friendly breakfast included, good location I'd stay again.

“A gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2012

I have been staying down in London Mon-Wed nights for a few weeks, always moving on from one bad place to the next - until I found this hotel! Courteous staff, recently refurbished, quiet but central location, sensitive to the needs of single female travellers and reasonably priced compared to the nearby hotels - I couldn't ask for more! The only slight niggle for some might be that the central heating hasn't been installed yet but the staff were quick to bring a portable oil-filled radiator to take the chill off - for me it actually made a refreshing change from the usual hot, stuffy hotel room!

Room Tip: Higher rooms away from the lift are the quietest.
