Stayed at this hotel for a week recently. Had a very pleasant stay.
The best part of this hotel was the service. Everyone we encountered was polite and did whatever they could to help us. Of particular note was the staff that operated the breakfast service. They were super, and I felt that they all worked as a team to make sure everyone in the restaurant was well taken after. Any extra requests we made on the first day were always remembered for future mornings which was amazing. Jamal in particular really made an effort to help me out.
The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job. The windows aren't the thickest and we could definitely hear the planes landing/taking off at London city airport nearby. Luckily the planes don't continue into the night so it wasn't really a problem for us.
One thing that disappointed me is that there are no safes in the rooms - you have to take your valuables down to a safety deposit box located in a room behind the main desk. I think Crowne Plaza should really change that, I would much prefer to have my valuables in a room safe with me.
Also, both of our room keys deactivated about three times during our stay which was annoying to have to go down to get them refreshed. Don't know why but the same day mine would deactivate my husband's would as well.
You also only get 30 minutes of free wifi per day in the room and I found the internet rates quite expensive. Plus it was annoying that you have to wait exactly 24 hours to get your free 30 minutes the next day. So if we used the internet at 8pm one day, we had to wait until 8pm the next day for our daily quota. Also something I wish this hotel would change.
All in all a great stay and would recommend the place for people who want a clean hotel with great service.
