I very much liked the fact that each room has a kitchenette. It had a fridge, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. However, even though it was stocked with utensils, pots, pans, and plates, there were no ingredients to cook with such as oil, salt, pepper, and butter. You can't really 'cook' unless you buy every single ingredient. You can heat up pre-made meals in the microwave, and toast some bread (buy your own bread), and make tea (bring your own tea, milk).
As for the room- I felt it was more spacious than your average big city hotel room. I did have to move a small table and a chair that was situated in the middle of the room, aside onto the wall to make more walking space. The bathroom was perfectly roomy enough for one person, but if more than one person is in there at a time, it becomes tight.
We were given a room in the basement, one floor below the reception. I was a little put off by this, especially by the fact that people in the street AND the cleaning staff which had their storage just outside our windows, can see into our room. So that means I had to close the shades for the entire 3 days/nights we were there. One of the shades was broken and I had to fiddle with it just so every corner of the window was covered. Our room was situated in between the elevator doors and the cleaning staff room. Needless to say we could hear clearly every elevator ding, every person coming and going, even the cleaning people going into the storage room outside our windows.
There is no room service. They don't change your towels, nor tidy up everyday. In the closet, there is a small basket with cleaning equipment if you ever feel the need to clean yourself. Also inside the closet is a washer-dryer in one, the staff said they provide laundry detergent for one load. At the reception, there is a selection of dvd films which I made use of.
The reception staff was nice and polite. One man even helped choose a dvd one time, and another fixed the dvd player when I was having trouble with it.
For the price I thought it was reasonable. The advantages were the kitchenette and the location. There were lots of eateries nearby and the tube station was just a couple of blocks away.
