“Spacious room...”

I very much liked the fact that each room has a kitchenette. It had a fridge, microwave, toaster and electric kettle. However, even though it was stocked with utensils, pots, pans, and plates, there were no ingredients to cook with such as oil, salt, pepper, and butter. You can't really 'cook' unless you buy every single ingredient. You can heat up pre-made meals in the microwave, and toast some bread (buy your own bread), and make tea (bring your own tea, milk).

As for the room- I felt it was more spacious than your average big city hotel room. I did have to move a small table and a chair that was situated in the middle of the room, aside onto the wall to make more walking space. The bathroom was perfectly roomy enough for one person, but if more than one person is in there at a time, it becomes tight.

We were given a room in the basement, one floor below the reception. I was a little put off by this, especially by the fact that people in the street AND the cleaning staff which had their storage just outside our windows, can see into our room. So that means I had to close the shades for the entire 3 days/nights we were there. One of the shades was broken and I had to fiddle with it just so every corner of the window was covered. Our room was situated in between the elevator doors and the cleaning staff room. Needless to say we could hear clearly every elevator ding, every person coming and going, even the cleaning people going into the storage room outside our windows.

There is no room service. They don't change your towels, nor tidy up everyday. In the closet, there is a small basket with cleaning equipment if you ever feel the need to clean yourself. Also inside the closet is a washer-dryer in one, the staff said they provide laundry detergent for one load. At the reception, there is a selection of dvd films which I made use of.

The reception staff was nice and polite. One man even helped choose a dvd one time, and another fixed the dvd player when I was having trouble with it.

For the price I thought it was reasonable. The advantages were the kitchenette and the location. There were lots of eateries nearby and the tube station was just a couple of blocks away.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on any floor above the reception floor. Do not settle for a room in the basement.

“Great location, good amenities and helpful staff”

We stayed here for a week in one of the studio apartments. It was small but this is London, where accommodation is very pricey, and so we felt it was good value. The kitchenette is small but well equipped and all of the utensils are good quality, clean and quite new. We cooked almost all of our meals here. Definitely recommended and we will stay here again next time we are in London.

“Clean, pleasant, polite”

I've stayed at many hotels in this area on business over the years and I wouldn't go back to many of them. I would go back to Space - I was in a standard studio - room 304 on the third floor. It was small but larger than quite a few I've stayed in and London hotel rooms are not generally noted for their size. Kitchenette is well appointed with good quality appliances, crockery and cutlery etc. - I didn't try the dish washer or the washinbg machine but I'm sure they would have worked fine. A nice little touch was the provision of basic cleaning materials (washing up liquid, scourer, dish washer tabs, tea towel etc.) - very handy for an apartment hotel and not provided by that many in my experience. Bathroom is well fitted out again with good quality appliances and toiletries. Bed is comfortable, TV & mp3 dock are good and wifi is free (a little patchy, losing internet access a few times, but I think this was a BT maintainance issue and not down to the hotel as the network connection was maintained at all times with good signal strength). You can use the lift without fearing for your life and the hotel was quiet. Staff were polite and helpful. As with most hotels I would quibble at paying the full rack rate but at the sort of price you can normally find somewhere on the web it represents decent value. The location is great - close proximity to restaurants & supermarkets on Westbourne Grove and Queensway, Bayswater / Queensway tube stations, Kensington Gardens / Hyde Park. All in all a very pleasant no hassle stay - all I ask of a hotel!

“Wonderful apartment stay”

Stayed for 8 nights at the space apart hotel with my wife and 2 kids and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Firstly i was willing to pay for a half day rental and was promised a room subject to availability at 82 pounds. David at the front desk promised us a room as soon as possible. After b'fast,we got our room at 9.30 with no extra cost. I believe this good gesture will be extended to all if there were rooms available. My 3 bags were also brought to my room by this gentleman, David. Size of the room was what we expected as this is what you get for London standard. Room was tastefully designed with high speed wi-fi(free) and all facilities in room were in excellent condition with a good array of amenities provided. Sofa bed was big enough for 2 to sleep. Television channels provided good viewing. Hotel also provided good selection of DVDs for room viewing. Location was great as it was a 10 minutes walk to 2 train stations(bayswater, queensway). Though my room was located in front of a road, noise level was to its minimum. If you do need transport to the airport, look out for a south-asian gentleman who provides brochures outside bayswater station. Price to airport was reasonable compared to what i've checked around. Paid 45 pounds for 4 passengers and 4 large bags. Others were offering 60 pounds and above. Tuktuk restaurant outside queensway station is worth going to substantial meal at reasonable price and friendly staff too.Enjoyed my stay very much in London and would like to thank staff at Space Apart for their great hospitality and a room that provided state of the art facilities in the room. Thank you.

“Good value in great location”

We stayed here for 1 night in January, and althought the room was quite small it was more than adequate for our needs.

The only thing we thought was missing was a kitchen 'starter pack' of things like salt, pepper and oil and some tea or coffee (which we have found provided in other apartments we've stayed in).

But on the whole a very nice, clean well positioned accommodation and would consider staying again.
