“Excellent value”

This hotel was a welcome relief from the often over-priced and not very clean hotels in London. It is only one block from Kings Cross and St Pancras stations and the area is safe. My e-mail reservation was answered promptly and the check-in process was easy and courteous. The single room was small but had its own shower and toilet, each of which was immaculately clean. The room looked out onto Argyll Square, a very attractive pocket park. There is a bit of traffic noise, although the street itself is not heavily traveled, but the hotel itself was remarkably quiet. Breakfast is included in the price. I had the English breakfast -- egg, sausage, beans, toast, and tea -- which was served quickly and was tasty. Other options are, I think, available. The staff are friendly and I would certainly stay here again.

“Excellent location, spotless & great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

All email enquiries to the Meridiana were promptly responded to which always helps me pick somewhere, the second reason I chose the Meridiana was because of it's proximity to Kings Cross station so I expected it to be noisy, oddly one street back from one of the busiest streets in London it's very quiet so that was a bonus.
I stayed in a single room with a bathroom, it was small but even though I had a large suitcase I didnt feel at all claustrophobic, probably helped that there was a huge window with a view to the park across the street. The room was spotless, and the bathroom small but modern and gleamingly clean. There was a surprising amount of storage space too. That said the room & ensuite were spacious by London budget standards. It's not a budget hotel in the American mid west, dont expect that kind of room.
If you have mobility issues or you have huge bags I'd think about getting a room on the lower floors, the staircase is narrow and quite steep.
No wifi but there is a McDonalds around the corner with free wifi with no obligation to buy anything.
I didnt really have a need to call on the staff but they were pleasant and helpful on check in & check out. Cant speak for the breakfast as I tend not to eat till lunch time but if you're not a fan of English breakfasts there's plenty of cafe's and bakeries nearby as an alternative. I'll likely stay at the Meridiana again. (Normally I add photo's but I'd just be repeating what others have posted, my room was the one posted with the single bed & bathroom with the pine chest of drawers opposite the bed)

Room Tip: If you're on the larger size it might be worth getting a double room

“Clean hotel @good location!”

We had a family room with one double bed, and two singles, the room was on a small side, but it was ok for us,we just slept in there and we had a bathroom -very small, but then again we are not large peaple ,and it is good to have bathroom facilities in the room, especially when you have two kids with you.Our room faced the street but surprisingly wasn:t noisy at all.In two words i would say-clean hotel @ good location-about 5 min on foot to Kings Cross.I would recommend this place if you are looking for a clean hotel and you do not want to spend a fortune on accomodation!

“no frills value for money b&b”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

stayed at hotel meridiana for 3 nights in december. the location is very convenient, just a short stroll to king's cross transport hub. the room is very small, but it's clean and comfortable for a short stay. there's a sink, a small wardrobe, a single bed and a small lcd tv in the room. the toilet and shower are outside on the same floor, also very tiny.
there are no lifts and the stairs are quite steep so be prepared if you have any heavy luggage.
the breakfast is surprisingly good, i expected some cereal and cold milk but got a small english breakfast with 1 sausage, 1 bacon, baked beans and toast.
the receptionist is friendly and approachable which is another plus.
the slight downside is i left my window open one night and it became quite noisy with the sound of traffic and pedestrians being heard even at the early hours of the morn.

“Cheap & clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

Stayed here one night when attending a concert in London. Needed a clean and cheap hotel close to the Eurostar-station. Goal: sleep, shower, have a cup of tea and back to Belgium.

Payed in total about 70 euro (breakfast included but left without it to catch an early train) for this hotel and must say I can recommend it.

Extra pro: in the city center. Walked from the hotel to Royal Albert Hall in about 90m (with some tourist highlights)

Contra: small room
