Our room was in the attic so the last flight of curved steps were a hazard. It was large but filled with a double and two twins so was difficult to negotiate especially since there was a step down to the door within a foot of a bed. Bathroom was modern. The breakfast choices were extensive but breakfast staff was abrupt. Desk staff was very helpful. Location in Bloomsbury was close to the underground . I was surprised that the crescent garden was not a garden but tennis courts.

I stayed at the Mentone for 3 nights, after once staying at the hotel a couple of years ago. Since then it has been refurbished and provides great value for money. My room was clean, the ensuite was modern and spacious, and most importantly it provided a great centrally located base to travel to my meetings.

We stayed here for New Year weekend and after reading some of these reviews was a bit dubious but was pleasantly suprised. We stayed in room 2 which ironically had the same picture on the wall we have at home!! Very comfirtable room. excellant maid service with clean towels daily and beds made. Nice and spacious but beware of the step into the bathroom it comes keen after a long days walking!! Fantastic breakfast all you can eat and as much toast as you want but the one criticism is the service was too fast we hadnt finished our cereals when our cooked appeared!! It made us feel rushed!!!! The steps down to the eating area were very steep I presume those less able would be catered for accordingly!! Excellant for commuting. If you are going to be in London for a few days buy a daily tube ticket worked out very good value for money!! Also an excellant pub called " The Rocket" on the same side as Kings Cross station where we got 3 meals and 5 beers for just over £20.00 so brill value!! Definetely be going back next New Year!!

It was my 1st stay in London.
Reception was quite friendly. They helped me to get back my blocked money on the credit card. You can also keep your suitcase downstairs for no extra charge.
But no one helped me to carry my suitcase to the last floor. And the stairs there are quite steep. So, It was really hard to do the thing.
I was pleased with the view, a big bed, a kettle and some tea and coffee in the room.
The bathroom was absolutely tiny (as well as the room itself). And it was inconvenient to have a shower there: the water was splashing all around. The sink was small and uncomfortable.
But breakfast was really great. I had a long day of walking in store for me. So, I was happy to have a thorough meal. It was all fresh, various and tasty. So, I enjoyed traditional English breakfast.
The hotel is not far from King Cross Station. But it's a little bit complicated way there from the first sight. Later I easily got to the station and back.
