“Horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Dont stay here.

This hotel is one of the worse I have ever stayed in London. It's a total rip off, the noise is awful, it smells and there are unidentiifed stains on the carpets and walls.

Do yourself a favour and pay the little extra for something better.

“Unsecured Staycation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday and our 2 year anniversary. We both live in London but we're not from London so we thought staying in the heart of the city away from our flats would be nice. It was a fantastic location, particularly as Old Street/Angel is one of our favourite places to go out at night. We also discovered the London Canal Museum which is now one of our favourite places as you can walk along the Canal to Camden Town.

The hotel itself was a decent value for the money, however the hotel staff were next to useless. They operate on a system where you leave your room key at the front door. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but they don't do any type of check to make sure it's actually your room key you're taking when you come back. I felt like anyone could come in say my room number and get into our room. It seems like a fairly simple precaution for them to take a photo or ask for ID when you ask for the room key and for this reason I wouldn't recommend again.

“Absolutely horrible, cannot believe we made the unpleasant mistake of staying there.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

My personal opinion, don't stay here unles you are absolutely forced to. The web pictures are misleading and thankfully we only stayed for one night (solely due to other hotels in the area being fully booked (London Fashion Week)). In hindsight we should have booked into the other hotel that we had considered miles away near Waterloo (cheaper but one extra star rating and I'm sure 2 more star ratings more in terms of service and comfort) and paid a little extra for the cab ride up to St Pancras the next day. We were absolutely shocked at the standard all round. Breakfast was below most people's standard, the eating area is cramped and the staff are definitely not skilled in any degree of customer service. Don't leave your bags in the baggage area, they do not lock it and anyone has access to your luggage. There is linen left lying around and various fixtures in the hotel were broken or loose. If you are based on the road side, it is noisy at night. The only good point was that although the bathroom was tiny, it was spotless. In every other way we very disappointed. Add to that the booking cost over a massive 170 odd pounds for 2 people as it was a late booking due to changes in our schedule. My recommendation is: don't stay at this hotel or whatever it is classified as.

Room Tip: Not applicable - don't choose any room.

“Low backpacker standard - go elswhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

I booked this place on price only as I was staying in town for a function. reception is ok minimum interest by staff who I guess are paid a low rate. the general decor of this place is very tired and in need of a major overhaul.
The room I got was tiny but good enough to sleep after a late night. shower was so small when I turned round I switched it off.
cleanliness was a low standard. this really is a budget place I paid £42 for the night on a so called special deal. My opinion is - if you dont need to stay here then dont. simple as that.

Room Tip: Dont stay here
