One night stay for business and usually book the cheapest rooms available. THis was only £50 for single ensuite and breakfast. Room was actually a double room so more space. Clean and basic but perfectly fine. Breakfast buffet style, quick and easy and good quality. Staff pleasant. Would recommend.

My brother and I stayed the California Hotel recently for 3 night and enjoyed our stay. The room was small (Never had anything but a small room in London), and a little run down, but it was clean and comfortable. I actually think the large modern bathroom was bigger than the rest of the room, but we only slept there any ways. It had a small TV with 4 channels, and a small desk for the Laptop. The room was fairly quiet, and didn’t notice any of the usual street noise you usually find in a big city. We also had a good free WI-FI signal. The breakfast was in the lower level and had all the basic English stuff : Bangers, beans, tomato, bread. and it was fine overall. The hotel’s best feature was location. We took the airport tube all the way from Heathrow to Kings Cross (no transfers) and then only a 5 min. walk to the Hotel. When we left we walked 5 mins. Over to St. Pancras and took the train to Paris. There are also several restaurants, markets, shops and fast food joints within a short walk. My brother is hard to please, but we both enjoyed the hotel and its convenient location I would definitely recommend it, and stay here myself again.

We stayed here for eight nights in October 2011. The hotel has fairly small rooms but the location is excellent and close to the tube station and railway (Kings Cross).

Our room was on the first floor and had barely enough room to turn around in however from past experiences with London stays we were not expecting a large room. The room was clean, plain and somewhat dated. They had just installed new wall mounted televisions in the rooms. We also had wireless service in our room.

We have stayed at this hotel before and that was mostly due to the budget price, excellent breakfast and central location. This time we found the room to be exceptionally hot and they seemed unable to adjust the heat. Opening the window was not an option as we were on the street level and there was a great deal of street noise at all hours. We were given a fan but it was not the best solution.

This hotel is perfectly situated in Kings Cross.A short walk over the road from Kings Cross station.We walked everywhere,but caught the tube home every night as we were worn out,so how good we only had to walk across the road to our hotel.The staff are very nice and helpful.The rooms are en suite very clean but small.There is plenty of space to hang your clothes,shelves and cupboard space.With facilities to make tea/coffee in your room.There is a cooked breakfast available.if your an early bird its ok but if you decide to wait while the queue goes down you will be disappointed it will be stone cold.
