“Perfect location”

Reciprocity with my home club enabled me to stay at the Sloane Club. The Club is located a short walk from the Sloane Square Underground serviced by the Circle and District Lines. The club is nestled on a quiet residential street just south of Sloane Square. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the staff reserved yet helpful and continental breakfast was included.

The housekeeping staff was quite noisy and disruptive on Sunday Morning (about 10am) but a quick call to the front desk solved the issue.

“Very "clubby" Sloane Club”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

The name fits with the type of hotel - very "club" style. Rooms are "quaint" (read small) but the quality and newness of bathrooms varies widely. I don't think really meant for the business traveler - really unpredictable internet connections and pray that it doesn't break down on a Friday since there is no concept of getting anything fixed over a weekend... hopeless.

The bar/lounge area is very attractive - warm and inviting... however, the hotel needs to come into the 21st century - I was not permitted to bring my laptop into the bar/lounge area...it didn't matter that I wanted to read the newspaper online - simply "not permitted" to have a laptop there. C'mon, let's be green and try to save trees by not having to read only printed matter!

The Reception staff lovely but booking a room by phone not a pleasant experience.... not very friendly or helpful. I've always had a problem booking anything more than 2 nights without being told I'd have to move rooms. Not a welcome experience during any hotel stay but in particular during a business trip.

The dining room is very pleasant but the breakfast service is extremely monotonous... seems to be the same over the course of the last few years.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front.... much brighter.

“Great place to stay in London. Home from home!”

We used to stay occasionally as reciprocal members but upgraded to full membership because it is such a great place. Quiet, very comfortable hotel near the centre of London. The best thing about this club is the staff who are always most helpful, friendly and courteous. There are two lounges with large comfy sofas and gentle decor to relax in and have afternoon tea or a bar meal. Beautiful huge displays of fresh flowers are always on display. The bedrooms are comfy and nicely decorated but not large. Inner courtyard ones are best with less traffic noise, which isn't bad even on the main street. For more reasonable rates you can have a club room with a shared bathroom over the hallway. Food in the bar or restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced for London. Breakfast is very good - their porridge is a favorite of mine. Overall The Sloane Club is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on inner courtyard are quieter. Club rooms without en suite facilities are perfectly acceptabl...

“A wonderful find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

We stayed for four nights as reciprocal members from the RACV Club in Melbourne. The Sloane Club is very central and convenient to all the major attractions in central London. The Club itself was wonderful - very helpful and obliging staff from the maitre d' and wait staff in the restaurant through to reception and the room maids. Nothing was too much trouble and they really took an interest in us and what we were doing to enjoy our stay and enjoy London. We felt more like guests of a family than guests in an hotel. The dinner and show package recommended by a reception staff member was a great bargain. We dined at 5, took a hired car to see "Warhorse" (great play, highly recommended) collected afterwards and driven back to dessert and coffee and a nightcap. All for a (comparatively) very low cost. The restaurant is also very good (service, ambience, food and wines) and a very competitive price. Our room was reasonably spacious with a good, well-maintained bathroom and good storage spaces and the wi-fi worked well and, at 10 pounds for a week, good value especially if your other option is to use the roaming function on your iPhone to download data. If you get a chance to stay at The Sloane Club, take it!

“Ideal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

This hotel/club is located in the heart of Chelsea/.Sloane Square. Immaculate buildings and architetucture surround you. The fashionable Kings Road, Sloane Square is just a stroll from the front door. The place itself is quiet comfort, highly understated and appears to be a safe haven for ladies who lunch. The rooms are comfortable and have safes, flat TV's, notepaper, quality cosmetics, good linen and tea and coffee making facilities. The food is good quality although I did not sample any meals I had breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. The sandwiches were made from the freshest bread I had ever experienced and the fruit salad at breakfast was quite delicious. The staff were quiet, discreet and pleasant. The only downside was that there is no parking on location but they have an arrangement with a garaging company a few streets away who give you a competitive rate.
