“AVOID AT ALL COST”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

I cannot believe that Travelodge have the nerve to keep this place open. I use hotels for business approx 150 nights per year. This place has to be the dirtiest most disgusting hovel I have ever had the misfortune to stay. When I complained about the filth in the bathroom it was met with 'Whatever' I complained in writing to travelodge and have as yet still not rec'd a reply.

“dreadful”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

The travelodges seem so have gone right down hill, this one was awful carpet filthy, mold all over bathroom, paint chipped everywhere, and on and on.We asked to move rooms and were told we had to wait until next day, then next room was just as bad.The standard has gone down on all travellodges but this one must be the worst.Or do you know others worse?dont go until it has been refurbished. You used to know what you would get at lodges as they are all the same, but not now.

“Grotty but bearable”

We stayed here as a base for visiting London as it is near the Tube - but forgot Wimbledon was on so it was v expensive. The corridors are scuffed and the walls have gouge marks in them. The room was fine, small and basic as expected. We asked for more towels and pillows which we didn't consider to be a problem and the receptionist was friendly and helpful.
We had a taxi some mornings to the tube (sore feet from too much shopping!) and the receptionist called one straight away. The only problem was that it didn't seem to us to be a proper taxi/mini cab as there were no signs on it to say so, no meter inside or radio control and there were personal items in the door pockets....hmmm! It was also much dearer than the taxi's we used from the tube back to the hotel.
The Harvester pub attached serves standard pub grub which is good value and filling after spending all our money on over priced private cars pretending to be minicabs and shabby hotel rooms.
If we had realised about the price hike for Wimbledom fortnight, and our proximity to it we could have stayed anywhere else that was near a tube for the same price but a vastly superior quality.
Really, only stay there if there is no other choice - it is in desperate need of a makeover!
