“Simply disgusting”

I stayed at the Garth Hotel in Fall 2010. The room was a derelict cubicle with no heating on, dust EVERYWHERE, with a dirty bathroom. The woman at the reception was more interested in watching a film than taking care of my requests. I was so disgusted by the filthiness of the place, and by the rudeness of the hostess, that I did not even have breakfast there. I would never suggest anybody to stay there, not even for one night.

“nowhere near as bad as the other reviews say”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

this is a guest style hotel. brilliant location close too Euston station and underground, quite basic rooms but clean. stayed with a friend in a twin room, consisted of two single beds, sink, kettle, TV, hair dryer, chest of drawers, wardrobe and fan, shared toilet and shower facilities on the landing. tasty breakfast consisted of full English, toast and cereal, with orange juice and coffee. very good value for money. would definitely stay again

“ok”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

The room was tidy.It was like it was one room cut in two. Would of liked a double bed.Instead we got two single beds lined up on each other. And that was the size of the room. This must of been done to grab as much money as poss. The light shade was dirty. No en suite.Which i knew about. But there wasn't even a bath in the shared bathroom.
The breakfast was very good.Full english cerael toast. That was the only good thing. Close to tube. We paid 75 pounds. Wouldn't stop again.

“Zero points, This is a dirty grimey "hotel"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

I stay at this "hotel" the night before a family funeral, our room and the whole building appeared to be furnished by items from a car boot sale. The room was dirty and the furniture was badly stained. Do not be taken in by the room charge, or the outside facade, we paid over £120 for the nght. I had to fill the kettle with a cup, because it was too big to fit in the sink or under the tap, and pour boiling water on the shower tray before using it.
Breakfast was so poor that we left the "hotel" early, than spend any more time in our room. Breakfast consist of 1 egg, 1 slice of bacon, 1 mini sausage, 1 mushroom and half a tomatoe! When I got home I notice bite marks on my arm and devloped a rash on my face.
I would at best describe this place as a old style DHSS lodging. We were also asked to pay upfront before we saw the room. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ACCOMODATION TO ANY ONE. There is a travelokdge a few minutes away stay there it's a lot cleaner.

Room Tip: Save yourself the hassle stay somewhere else.

“Nowhere near as bad as some of the other reviews say!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

This is a guest house style hotel with a quirky independent feel. If you are looking for a plush upmarket get away then this is probably not for you. The decor of the hotel may be considered dated by some but we felt it added charm and home-like quality to our stay. Breakfast was very good and we were pleased. We slept well during our stay. This hotel was no better/worse than any other I have stayed in in London for it's price range. I will definitely be staying again and would recommend for a reasonably cheap and cheerful stay in London.
