“St Ermins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

The hotel is a few steps from the entrance of st James tube station and a five minute walk from some of the key tourist sites such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster and the Houses of Parliament - an amazing location!
The hotel is approached via a driveway, edged by shrubs and flowers, and absolutely immaculate.
On arrival we were greeted by a porter who was charm personified, and could not have been more helpful or friendly
Check in was seamless....
The room was contemporary, and gleaming clean....with all the modern amenities you would expect including White Company toiletries, and tea and coffee
The public rooms are more ornate than the bedrooms, cosy, clean and maintained to a very high standard
Breakfast service (on a very busy Sunday morning) was not only efficient but extremely friendly, and the eggs benedict marvellous!
I would not hesitate in recommending this property

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the main entrance driveway

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

The Happy Ermin is a hotel with long traditions and great atmosphere. Great food, but a bit steep on the prices.
Helpful consierge desk and friendly staff. Rooms a bit on the small side but with fantastic beds.

Central location to all shopping and resturants.

“Leisure Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriends for a weekend in London. The entrance to the hotel itself is very impressive and inviting. We had a family room which was very spacious and consisted of 2 bathrooms (extra bonus). The decor was beautiful and clean too, the bar is very modern chic and has a cosy feel to it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London for a relaxing break in City, it's a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace and Westminster and a nice stroll into the heart of London city itself.

Room Tip: For a excellent sized Family room with a nice view over the hotel lobby and outside bar choose Rooms...

“Location, Location and great service”

I stay in quite a few London hotels throughout the year, mostly for pleasure, sometimes for business. I chose this hotel due to the good Trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. A short walk from St. James Park tube station, what a lovely surprise when you turn the corner and get your first view of the hotel, pretty flower beds and trees all beautifully kept. On entering the hotel, we were greeted warmly by every member of staff we saw. We arrived early in the morning so that we could leave our bags, but we were offered an upgraded room at a small cost which was available there and then. The room, a deluxe King size, overlooked the front of the hotel, had everything we needed, including fresh coffee which was a nice touch. As mentioned in previous reviews, a few biscuits would be nice. Everywhere was clean and tidy, we had a slight problem with the room which was swiftly rectified.

We had dinner in the Caxton Grill, it was superb, and service extremely attentive. We also had the full breakfast which was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in London, including a great selection of lovely fresh breads, meats, cheeses, fruit, smoked salmon and preserves.

We found the hotel was in a great location for visiting various areas of London, close to Westminster, Victoria and a few tube stops to the city centre, the shops, sights and theatres etc. We walked to Waterloo from the hotel in about 25 minutes at a leisurely pace.

The best experience of this hotel is one of being valued as a person, not just a room number, we were spoken to by name throughout and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

Dear Madam,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a descriptive and positive review. I am happy to read that you had used Trip Advisor to help make your choice of where to stay; so many of our guests have been kind enough to write about our service and hospitality. St.Ermin’’s is one of the few hotels in London with its own large courtyard and we are glad that you were impressed by the grandness of the building and the location. Our restaurant, the Caxton Grill, has been very popular with both guests and non-residents and I am glad that you rate our breakfasts as ‘one of the best you have had in London’, I shall pass your compliments on to chef!
We truly hope that you will visit us again soon,

Best regards

Douglas McHugh
