We stayed here for 3 nights as I was working at the Excel. We booked on line and paid £120. The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable. It is just a short 3 minute walk to the venue. We ate in the cafe on the first evening. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The bathroom is on the small side but very clean. I found it very good value for money. The only down side is the noise from the planes as it is close to London City airport. Will definitely stay here again!!!

I was worried after reading some of the reviews on here but having just spent the weekend here I felt that I needed to put a review on here to recommend it.... It is across the road from the DLR so you can be wherever you need to be in London very quickly (especially handy for the O2). The rooms are a bit small but are comfortable. I was VERY worried about the bathrooms given that judging by some comments on here it sounded as though I would bump my head getting in and out but they were perfectly adequate - shower, toilet and sink and enough space. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was OK - wouldn't bother paying the upgrade to full English though, not worth it. The pub was very nice. I thought it was quiet - slept very well. Considering we paid half as much for this hotel than were being quoted for the nearest travelodge, I was stunned by the value for money this hotel offered and would have no problem staying here again.

Rooms are rather small but can be worse, for two people with not many luggage is adequate. Bathroom is plastic composite, small, but clean, not that bad as described in other reviews.

TV was OK, quite adequate size for the room with nice selection of channels for free. Continental breakfast (tea, cofee, hot chocolate, 3 juices, croisants, little baguettes and toast bread, selection of jams, cheese, eggs, butter... that is pretty much it but still quite good and very tasty (especially those croisants were exquisite)) was included in price (I am not sure if it is always). Upgradable to english breakfast for 3 quid.

About 2 minutes from the DLR train door, and handy display with train departures (live) on the lobby, so you do not need to wait at the platform. In less then half an hour from your room or breakfast you can be at the London City Airport, or attend a meetnig in Bank area or Canary Wharf.

If your looking for somewhere cheap in London which is clean and has good transport options , this is perfect . I'd stay there again . . Watch out for the breakfast police though, they will throw you out if you even think about taking some cooked breakfast without paying the upgrade fee.
