The hotel is just ok. Old, tiny rooms, not so clean (a lot of dust evrywhere).
It's ok if your priority is to save money and see the city, as the position is very central.
And of course, you get what you pay.
An advice: Dont's ask them to book a taxi for you. I did it, and it was a rubbery. First of all, it was not a real taxi (it was a private driver who seemed to knew pretty well the staff of the hotel), and most of all he charged 14 pounds for a very little road (to Baker Street, that we reached in 5 minutes).
So, book a taxi by yourself if you need it.
And to the hotel staff, please remove all the dust.

I was staying at the Wegdewood Hotel just a few weeks ago. Once again I was appalled by the bad reviews it had got (but at the same time bearing in mind that those reviews didn't probably hold much ground). Luckily I was correct. The place was completely satisfactory. I stayed there with a high school student group (of 22 people) for five nights. The rooms were tidy (no blood stains in the bed sheets), the bathrooms, albeit being small, were in excellent condition (no hairs). And who cares if the bathroom doors look like wardrobe doors as long as there are bathrooms in the rooms! Service at the reception desk wasn't overly eagerly but polite and prompt nonetheless. The breakfast was definitely of good value (once again compared to the price we were paying). It is irreplaceable if you can eat as much as you want (toast with jam) and drink as much as you want (orange juice, coffee or tea) and pay nothing extra. Keeping in mind the excellent location (just a few minutes’ walk from the Bayswater tube station, but anyway off the main road) and the excellent value for little money, I would definitely recommend the place for groups and friends. It might not be suitable for families with small children.

As soon as I saw the outside of this place I knew i had made a mistake. Upon checking in, they wanted pre payment for all 5 nights at which I refused until seeing the room. It was a disgrace and I immediately informed them i was staying for one night only. I was charged for 2 nights anyway and will dispute the charge. The staff were unfriendly, the room tiny and misrepresented on websites. I booked through Booking.com and have alerted them to this unfortunate visit.
