“Nice Retreat”

Over to Visit relatives in London and booked a package without reading up on accomodation.
Were we lucky or what. From moment we arrived with a warm welcome , to a lovely clean comfortable room to a busy brisk breakfast room was a treat to stay.
We arrived early and so left our luggage for the day.came back from relatives exhausted in the early evening to collect our bags and went our room in the building 4 doors away Hotel 73.
Fresh bright room, glorious deep comfortable double bed ,we each had long hot showers and slept 10 hours.
Woke up at 6 am starving wandered into Hotel65 and were let in 30 minutes before breakfast was due to start.Plenty of coffee toast, croissants and cereal jam and cheese too.Off out to explore with cousins again.
Same again that night to shower and sleep.
Next morning went down at 8am and paid for English breakfast -wonderful eggs and smoked bacon with thick pork sausage and beans- delightful and lots of coffee toast yoghurt and cereal too.
7 day stay =perfect, quiet, comfortable, friendly and warm. Will be staying here next time we visit.

Room Tip: ground floor at back -being American do not like too many stairs.

“Was meant to be mini break, not Mini Room!”

Hotel 65 and annexes is situated in Shepherds Road, Hammersmith, London, so very convienient for Hammersmith Appollo Theatre and reasonably priced for an overnight stay but thats where the plus points end! Our room was in one of the annexes, Hotel 73. Top floor of a converted house. Supposedly a double room, our room was so very very small. No wardrobe just a hanging rail over the bed, the bed filled most of the room and we had a space of about 6' by 3' to move around in although a chest of drawers was placed in this space and once our overnight bags were put there we had a space of about the size of a dining room table to get ready in, so small in fact that my partner had to sit on the bed while I got ready and then we swapped - challenging when you are trying to look glam!!! The bathroom was modern and an ok size but fittings had fallen off the wall and when I turned the shower on the shower head fell on top of me!! also no shelves in the bathroom so all washing gear had to go on the floor or on top of the toilet seat - being top floor and so small it was uncomfortably hot in the room and it was good to get out in the snow later on!!
Breakfast was an experience, a very rude and bossy manager barking at the guests who were waiting to be seated and basic food of cold toast and cereal as a reward for this experience! Needless to say we wont be staying there again!

Room Tip: Unless you are on a very small budget I would look somewhere else there are many hotels along the sa...

“Best value for money in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

After mixed reviews I decided to take a chance and book this hotel anyway. It turned out to be a gem. Hotel 65 has several houses and we were in number 61. Staff were friendly, and efficient. The whole no. 61 house looked recently refurbished and our room was spacious, clean, with a spacious bathroom, tv and free fast wifi (we were at a conference at the nearby 3x more expensive Novotel where Wifi cost 15 GBP per day and didn't work well!). The house was quiet and we felt like we 'lived' in London for the few days we were there. Lots of restaurants and convenience stores within 100 metres of the hotel. Breakfast at no. 65 was in a pleasant room, and a generous continental one, with croissants, as much toast, coffee, tea, chocolate and cereal with yoghurt as you want, and again, friendly and helpful staff. This hotel will be our base next time we are in London.

Room Tip: I haven't seen the rooms in no. 65, but 61 is definitely a good choice.

“Convenient & cheap”

We booked via the internet & didn't really know what to expect. I certainly did not like having to carry big heavy suitcases up narrow flights of stairs to our room. Broken fixtures were left in the ensuite. Although I had paid & ordered a full english breakfast, it was just assumed when we went to the dining room that we were just having the continental breakfast! And when I queried it, they seemed offended because we'd already had juice & toast!!
However, it was very accessible to Hammersmith tube station which made it easy to go to various places throughout London without too much hassle. And although it was on a busy street very little road noise reached inside the rooms so sleeping was better than we anticipated.

“Average low budget hotel, good location”

A good choice for a short stay in London. We did not expect more than what offered. The room was clean, the personnel was very friendly and convenient location. But I wonder how much would cost to change the curtains, to put a little hanger or hook for the towels and replace the missing shelf in the shower room and how much would cost a set of matched tea cups/plates....
