“Fantastic budget hotel, best location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The hotel is a 2 minute walk from King's Cross tube station which is an ideal start to get around London. The hotel has a hostel vibe with lots of people milling around. The reception staff were all really helpful. Our room, no. 25, was compact but had everything we needed for a two night stay. The room was en suite, but a lot of the other rooms have a shared toilet/shower in the hall. The facilities were basic but all you need! The breakfast was great considering it was included in the price (we paid £104 for a double room for two nights) - bacon, sausage, beans, egg, toast, tea/coffee and juice. Also a choice of continental/cereals/fruit. The breakfast room only has 4 tables of 5 and we got a place straight away on Friday, but on Saturday we had to wait for a table to become free. It wasn't a huge deal but weekends are clearly busier! All in all, a great location, friendly staff, comfortable room and we were well fed! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a basic base to stay when visiting London!

Room Tip: Choose room no. 25. It is right at the top but it has en suite.

“Great Location, Small but clean and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Booked this hotel with a friend for one night to go and see a gig. Hotel was very clean (newly refurbished - you could smell the new paint and the new wooden floor was lovely!) - door wouldn't close properly initially but they had it sorted out in a few minutes. Had own key for outside door so could come and go as pleased so was very convenient. Beds comfortable and bathroom functional if very small. Breakfast was included in the price and was very nice. All in all a lovely little place and great for the price and location.

“good value for money for central London”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This B&B provides good value for money. The location is excellent, just opposite St Pancras International/Eurostar. Rooms are clean, although a bit small (the beds were also a bit 'tight'). Breakfast could be much better.
However, given the location, it's a good deal. Staff are also very helpful.

Room Tip: get a room on the first floor, apparently those on the ground floor tend to be noisy (you feel the t...

“Great location”

Being just a stone's throw away from King's Cross/St Pancras, the Central Hotel certainly can't be faulted on location. Those who come into London through Euston will also find that this hotel is only a five or so minute walk from there (perhaps a tad longer with a suitcase).

The welcome was friendly enough and in terms of location the value for money is hard to fault.

The rooms are very small but as I'd say that we only spent a couple of hours in between activities in the room this did not cause us a problem. The bathroom was very small as well, although again as we only needed it for a quick freshen up this didn't worry us unduly and the shower was hot and powerful.

The breakfast was nice (full English included in the price of the room) although, again, the dining area was small and didn't have enough seats for the number of guests. We dropped on and found a vacant table but others had to share with other guests, or wait until others had left. Again, this caused us no problems but I guess others might like a bit more privacy.

For the price you get a clean, accessible hotel in a great location. You don't get luxury and you don't get much room but as a base for a weekend's sightseeing the Central Hotel would certainly get my vote.

“A handy little gem!”

As convenience goes, this is a fabulous little overnight stop if planning an early morning EuroStar departure - and this is what brought me to this hotel in the first place.

Having pre-booked via LateRooms.com (dead easy(!) I arrived quite late at night and the reception area, small though it was, buzzed with activity. This included someone who, from his conversation with the front desk, had stayed before - so he clearly liked it! The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming and the whole process of registration took no time at all.

The room was small - but it was only for one night and I just needed a few hours sleep before an early morning departure to northern France. Shower and toilet were tiny add-ons, so someone much larger than me would have bashed elbows everywhere. However, quite adequate for my needs.

Downside: Noisy neighbours at 04.00 am who were up and about with little thought for the sound of their voices through the walls; and a shower that took ages to get warm.

All-in-all, a pleasant little place at a budget price where convenience for EuroStar is king!
