We were in London for a shopping and sightseeing weekend, and found the St George Hotel to be a very convenient and comfortable place to stay for our purposes. Close to Baker Street, & Marble Arch tube stations, plenty of buses nearby and quite handy to eating houses and plenty of shopping in Oxford Street. The street where the hotel is located is very quiet except for the occasional bus passing by. We had three rooms, one - airconditioned! lovely! - on the ground floor, the second on the 2nd floor and the 3rd one on the 3rd floor, neither of which was air conditioned and so very warm and stuffy but at least there was a good sized fan provided in each one. Each room also had a fridge as well as all the other amenities listed on the hotel description. Problem with the fridge was that it was pumping hot air into the already warm room. This was ameliorated in two rooms by having the fridge in a cupboard, but the 3rd room (my son's) was being heated nonstop from the rear of this appliance. He considered turning it off but in the end didn't like to interfere with the hotel's property. Breakfast each morning was fresh and plentiful - cereals, juices, fresh and tinned fruit, toast white & brown, croissants, yogurts, tea and coffee. Menu also offered a full English which we didn't need or want but smaller versions were also offered e.g. omelette at a very reasonable extra cost of approx £2.50 (can't remember exactly but it seemed quite good). Staff were very pleasant and gave excellent assistance when we needed to do an online checkin for our return flights. They also accommodated us with an early check in to one of our rooms the morning we arrived although officially check in wasn't until 1pm, which meant we could leave all our stuff and head off down to the shops! Great!
