My previous review of this hotel was mysteriously removed from the site, so I will have another go without being so harsh.

We needed somewhere to stay in London at short notice within our price range (about $120 per night). I know the Victoria Station area well, so opted for Airways.

The location of the hotel itself is great, less than a 5min walk from Victoria Coach.

Also, the wi-fi internet was fantastic.

My problems with this hotel are as follows:

1. There is a very narrow staircase and no lift. We had 2 large bags weighing over 30kgs which I had to carry up on my own. I am a large man at 6'5 and 100kgs, but I doubt many other people would be able to do this.

2. The room itself was tiny. After we moved our bags in, there was very little room to actually manoeuver your way through to the bed.

3. The room was very dirty. There was a problem with ventilation, which made it very difficult to breathe during the night. We had to have the window wide open to let in the 4 degree chill.

4. The linen was not clean. There was a distinct stench of tobacco in the sheets. My partner and I both found this to be repulsive.

My advice would be to book well in advance, in a much nicer hotel. If you are stuck, there are many other hotels in the Victoria district which you should be able to uncover via TripAdvisor.

Very close to Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station, GREAT service oriented staff including desk, breakfast room and housekeeping...couldn't be better..they work sooo hard to keep the place clean. Wish the room were a little large but they were fine...good TV and internet. Near to all restaurants....we walked to Trafalgar Sq. and Buckingham Palace in the winter and it was fine. Great places to eat nearby. Recommend Nandos a few blocks away. Will definitely stay here again..Best part were the ENTIRE staff and location.

A basic bed and breakfast hotel.The staff were very friendly and helpful,even changing my first room for a lower floor as it was on the top floor and I couldnt make the stairs which are steep.The bathroom was clean and modern and the carpet was clean.The only downside was the overcover on the bed.there was no duvets andf this was a little grubby so i didnt sleep with it.Breakfast room a little cramped but on the whole fine for a one or two night stay at good value near the west end.

It is a budget hotel with a very good location, the rooms are small but comfortable enough to stay in for a few nights. Breakfast is OK (although the dining room is tiny) and the staff are kind and helpful. Would definitely come back again.
