“Nice hotel, good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We needed a one night stay close to my daughter (shortage of hotels in Barnes), Jan 2012, and got a very good deal on this hotel - which may have been a 'special' deal - when we were advised on the afternoon of the following day the heating had broken on the apartment we were about to rent and we tried to book another 2 nights the price was more than double (it was Saturday?).
For the price we paid it was excellent. The hotel is smart, well presented and the room, not in the front building, was clean and fine - not quite pristine (eg. shower curtain).
Breakfast was help your self full english - very good.
The only downside was lack of sound proofing in the building we were in, and we were next to the outside door.. Guests returning at 5.30AM and began leaving at 6.10AM. Slept well upto then but not after.

Room Tip: Avoid room near annex entrance.

“Good quality accommodation and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

A very pleasurable two night stay at the Lodge Hotel Putney and I would have no hesitation to return to this establishment when visiting this area again. Ideally situated for easy access into London via the local tube station or via taxi and easy walking distance to the Thames and Putney Bridge.
Full credit to the hotel management and staff, as they were very welcoming, helpful, friendly and professional, a credit to the hotel.
Very comfortable accommodation with a good standard of cleanliness and decoration throughout.
Last but not least – superb quality cooked English breakfast and attentive dining room staff – top marks for a reasonably priced good value hotel – many thanks and well done!

“Comfy and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

My family of 4 slept so well here. We lived the cozy family room, just a tiny bit claustrophobic for me with the low ceiling...but I quickly go over it! The hotel was well located for good eating and had a small fridge for snacks. We took the tube to London (and the bus when the tube was on strike). It was easy and fun for us to use transportation. The breakfast was charming with views of the garden and all dressed up for Christmas. And I appreciated the helpfulness of the employees. Would love to stay at the lodge again!

“New Year's Eve in London”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

My family and I had recently stayed at The Lodge Hotel Putney during December/January 2011/12.
We found the hotel clean, functional and adequate - and the family room - albeit slightly small, had just enough room to fit our family of four and our luggages
The staff wer friend and courteous.
Convenient location and we had no problem getting in and out even on New Years Eve...

Room Tip: No lift/elevator :-(

“Some good, some not so good...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas holiday whilst visiting family in Putney. A very warm welcome on arrival from the receptionist and speedy check in despite our having turned up an hour or so early. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift and we then had to climb 4 flights of stairs with luggage, Christmas presents etc. To our disappointment, despite having requested a non-smoking room, we were allocated a smoking room. Fortunately there was barely any odour, but as the majority of rooms are non-smoking, this was really not acceptable. The room (Executive) was reasonably spacious and very clean and warm, as was the bathroom with a powerful shower over a bath. We were at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet. Unfortunately our breakfast on Christmas morning was appalling. All the food containers were practically empty and what remained was cold and dried up. (We were not late nor in the middle of a rush) I would not consider this breakfast good value or acceptable in terms of quality for even half the £12.50 per person they charge. Needless to say we did not bother for the next 2 mornings of our stay. I mentioned our experience to the receptionist when we checked out and she apologised and expressed surprise. There was no offer of a refund or a reduction in our bill. Despite the grouses, we probably would stay again if it was convenient for our purpose. The outstanding good point was the friendliness of the reception staff, all of them lovely.

Room Tip: Check that, if possible, the room is as requested. After making 2 trips up 4 flights of stairs is n...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent review.
I have personally looked into this matter and have discovered we did experience a high volume of Breakfast room service on Christmas Day.
My Breakfast team and I would like to express our apologies for the disappointment you experienced with regards to Breakfast.
I am delighted that you did enjoy the bedroom facilities and friendly reception team.
We look forward to welcome you both back to the Lodge Hotel in the near future.

Yours Sincerely
