I am usually happy to stay at a Travelodge. However, I would not stay at London Park Royal again:

1) Very poor night's sleep. We were at the back next to the underground tracks. The trains run late into the night and start early in the morning! We got 5 hours sleep at best;
2) Very limited facilities. No restaurant or similar. Not such a good choice if arriving by public transport. It might be better if travelling by car.

There were Burger Kings and Pizza Huts across the road. However the only way to cross over was the subway at Park Royal underground station some 800m away. We made do as best as we could with sandwiches etc from the BP Connect shop next door.

Otherwise it was much as every Travelodge. The road was clean, the bed comfortable etc.

On the plus side, the staff on the reception desk were both exceptionally polite and obliging.

This hotel is a complete dump. Upon arrival we got a very miserable greeting with a quick shrug off. The room was terrible, stains on the bedding, mould on the windows, Broken bedside cabinet, mould on the shower curtains, disgusting smell coming from drains and a constant noise coming from railway line just outside the window. The pillows were about 1cm thick and only received one each, when I went to the front desk to ask for more I got questioned rudely "why"!!! All in all this hotel and the staff need all sorting out.

Sited on the busy A40, you may wonder how to get across that 6 lane speed hazard coming out from the tube exit.

Only Tom Cruise could get across that road so take the subway which is well lit I'll say that.
Hotel works well with the nearby Tube and is oppositte a retail park with restaurants. Room was ok, clean, towels and basics, no remote but managed the TV. Long room, good for desk based work . View across A40 of heathrow bound aircraft. Nice horizon. Really handy for park royal picadilly line tube eastbound into london in 30 mins. That station is a classic, looking like some seaside cliff hugging structure. Added to the atmosphere of a good all round stay.
Tube- tastic for central london at around 30 quid.Why pay more ?

For a cheap room with travelodge I was pleasantly surprised. You get what you pay for and I got more than I paid for at £29.99. Only 2 faults. Mould around the window. No plug in bath/ Apart from that it was very clean . Get a room at the back of the building . Top marks to Mohammed at the entrance office. travelodge you had better keep hold of him if you want to improve the reputation of your hotels.
