Stayed at Bernres in June 2005. Selected this hotel because of its proximitey to Theatreland. You can easily walk to Shaftesbury Ave in a few minutes and you are right on the doorstep of Oxford street for shopping.

Receptionists were excelent and the building is very grand and comfortable. Although the room was small, we did not mind got a great deal on Last minute.

Stayed at The Berners for one night. Got a good deal via Lastminute. Location wise, this place is brilliant, within walking distance of theatreland, Soho, shopping. The staff are also very accomodating and professional. The hotel is housed in a beautiful period building, that although not falling down, is in need of some surface refurbishment. The rooms themselves, are clean and adequately maintained. I stayed in a single room and it was very small, in fact almost cell-like. On the otherhand the bathroom was big. Toiletries supplied along with a tea/coffee tray. Bed was very soft...not to my liking. Rooms were quiet as they overlooked an inner courtyard. The room was dark and very hot. Breakfast was wonderful. I understand there is a 'club' floor and rooms are air conditioned and of a higher standard.....maybe they'd be a better option. Value for money wise, it delivered but only because the rate was discounted. I could'nt see myself paying full price for this place. Overall my stay was very relaxing made special by the staff. The accomodation was a bit of let down. I would recommend this place and consider staying again.
