We looked for a hotel in a central location, to spend 2 days in London before we'd get back home. Our only demands were 24 hours front desk and such a location that we could go walking to Buckingham Palace, Hide Park, Trafalgar Square or Harrods, yet we could get back late night safely. We decide stay in the Lime Tree Hotel for the good reviews. The hotel is located between Victoria Station and Sloane Square (both stations are at the same distance). If you have to take the tube anyway is recomended get to Sloane Square because is a less busy and more pleasant station. There's a bus stop around the corner, but anyway, most of the London atractions are walking distance (less than 1.5 miles away), for example Buckingham Palace is about 0.7 mile away, and there we can go to Green Park, Trafalgar Square, etc. The area around (Belgravia) is one the most expensive London neighborhoods and yet quiet and walkable like a provincial town. The hotel is small but clean and well run. It has a nice common area with couch and armchair, with some magazines and newspapers available to the guests. We stayed in a ground floor room, which seemed cosy (the wallpapers, the bedcover), clean and pleasant, with a door to the inner patio. The staff were very friendly, since the doorkeeper to the owner. Excelent service. We would go back again.
