“A quiet place to stay but with no frills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This hotel was reasonmably good value (this is London so good value is a relative term!). It is located in a convenient location, close to the shopping district of Mayfair and within walking distance of many things. The room I had was quiet as I was on the court side. Given the type of window, I am not so sure it would be true if you were facing the street, which is reasonably busy. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel has no elevator so this can be inconvenient if you have lots of baggage. The service was professional and overall, it was fine. That being said, there is really no frills about this hotel. It is a place to sleep. One last thing, the internet (WiFi) was actually rather fast and inexpensive.

Room Tip: I would recommend a court-view room.

“Good value for a good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We stayed for one night on my husband's birthday. The staff were pleasant and the hotel clean and tidy. The bed was a little soft for our liking so we didn't sleep very well, but the room and facilities on the whole were good. Small kettle with tea and coffee was a welcome addition. The room was a good size for London and the location was handy, with baker street tube/ oxford street/ mayfair only a walk away. Breakfast was included. Full english but not the best quality produce. Overall it was a pleasant stay and a good value considering the cost of other hotels in the area.

“Clean and comfortable”

Good value.Easy access to Baker St tube and pleasant stroll to Oxford St.
European staff all extremely pleasant.

English boss does the barely conatined contempt for Antipodeans rather well.

Great cooked breakfast included.
Although our room faced Gloucester Pl diminished traffic noise overnight.

“Cosy and clean 8 square meters in the center of London”

In my opinion, this hotel has a very good value-for-money for London standards if you have nothing against small spaces (room was rather tiny, but even if you suffer a little of claustrophoby, you might enjoy yoiur stay in there, since the ceiling is very far and gives the impression of more space).
Big pluses: very warm and friendly welcome by the Receptionists and ladies serving the breakfast, room comfy and clean, with TV, shower/toilet and tea bags and boiling water machine, plus a socket adaptor (on demand) for EU-UK conversion, good price for WLAN (especially for longer stays), waking distance to Oxford street and shopping areas and also to Hyde Park. Neutral: location in between 2 tube stations (about 500 m from each); pedestrian road between tube and hotel rather poor (narrow, with many street crossings).
Perfect for stays of up to 1 week and not heavy/large luggages.

“Good for three people traveling together”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

I booked this hotel because Frommer's rated it a good hotel for families. We stayed in room 9, which had three single beds - perfect for our family of two adults and a teenager. This room would also be good for three friends traveling together. The room and bathroom were spacious and quiet. It was up three flights of stairs, so I would not recommend it for those traveling with very small children. There is no air conditioning but they do provide a fan. The staff were primarily young students from Eastern Europe, and they were not knowledgeable about the city, the tube, tours or attractions. If you need the help of a concierge, book a large chain hotel.
