“it was ok”

I was on the tail end of my holiday, I was on the top floor and as there was no lift, had to walk. The bed was hard as a rock, but i had gotten used to that after being in another hotel. The breakfast was great, coffee was good, and the hotel is close to Earls Court station and was easy to navigate.

Room Tip: don't take too much stuff as you might have to drag it up all the steps.

“Shabby but not in a chic way.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This hotel is not cheap, i paid £100 for one night and that was after pushing for a discount due to the rates available on the website not being what they quoted me. The location is great and staff were fairly helpful but thats as positive as i'm going to be.
I kept my clothes packed as there was no way i would have put them in the warderobe or drawers. They looked grubby and stained. I also wasn't confident about the floor being clean so kept my shoes on. When i pulled the bedpsread back there was just a scruffy, old pink blanket and a sheet. I had to turn the heating up high to keep warm at night and didn't like the blanket touching me as it felt awful. The bed was almost completely solid, made my joints hurt. The bathroom was clean but the shower tiny, i am by no means large but struggled to get washed without jabbing elbows into walls or catching feet on the edge of the shower.
Breakfast was disappointing, just toast and cereal. By the melon rinds left on the breakfast bar i presume there was some fruit before we got downstairs, clearly 8.30 is too late to get hold of anything other than stale white bread despite the breakfast service only being open for half an hour.
Just disappointing really. The decor is bizarre and shabby but not in a charming way. Watch out for the prices they quote.

Room Tip: Just pay a little bit more and go to a quality hotel which you know you will enjoy.

“Rarely does somewhere make you review from within the property....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Dated, in broad need of modernisation and missing the expected standard touches.

Wallpaper is sagging off walls, furniture old and in need of repair and booked room type not provided. Modern TV, clean linen and warm room though were redeeming features.

Was very much the only reasonable priced hotel for the days in question in a relatively speaking quick trip to centre of London. For that it is 2-3 rather than 1 rating.

Room Tip: As low down as possible.

“BEWARE of the rates they quote”

Stayed in this property earlier this year. The only thing good about it is the location. The rooms were dark and dingy with outdated facilities. Beware of the rates they quote you as you may find yourself with a much bigger bill than what you are prepared for. Worse still, they are not even interested or make an attempt to honour what was agreed to even when it is clear they have made a mistake. Also recommend you ensure they do not put charges on your credit card without your approval after your have checked out - a definite no no in my books. Hope this helps if you are planning to stay. Definitely will not be back.

“What a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

We booked in here as it was our wedding anniversary and we were eating out in London.
When we booked we were charged extra "because it was Wimbledon fortnight"!!
We arrived and were allocated room 32 on the 3rd floor. This was an ensuite double.....
The room was 6ft 8inches wide. Just under 2 meters for those of you who prefer metric.
This meant that there was no bedside table, no bedside light and no room to swing a cat. The window was a sash one but the top quarter of the glass had been replaced by louvers. This meant that we had the noisiest night possible as it was impossible to shut them competely.
The wall lights were bare candle bulbs with no shades. The venetian blinds were broken.
The shower room as you can imagine was tiny. At first it seemed fairly clean, however, when we got up this morning there were numerous little black creatures running around the shower tray. everytime you ran any water in the sink or shower the stink of drains was dreadful.
It was a scruffy little cupboard that had had a double bed shoved in to it. They do have some nice rooms, try number 1 if you want to risk staying here. But be aware, AA 3 star it certainly isn't.
