“Stay like an Eskimo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

A standard Marriott in Kilburn (not Maida Vale as the name would imply). Rooms are ok, food alright but on a cold February night the room was totally freezing and the aircon wasn't heating at all. I've stayed before and it's been a standard Marriott in a box, nothing special but serviceable.

This time I ended up wearing the bath robe over my clothes to keep warm.

“Nice, but not in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

The hotel is nice, clean and comfortable, but is not easily accesible. If you coming from the city you have to catch a couple of trains or buses to get there. The closest station is Kilburn Park Tube Station, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast was great. The staff was courteous. I think is a good deal if you compare it with the cost of staying closer to the city. They have a nice bar and a restaurant and the prices are comparable to what you would pay outside the hotel. There is also a small area with foostable and some other games for kids. There's also a bar/restaurant about a block away that get's really crowded in the weekends. I would recommend the hotel, if you don't mind a little commuting to the city.

“Central Bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Out of town prices and yet still very central.
Good value for weekend break requiring no more than a clean room with a comfy bed.
Rest of the hotel services are basic but the staff are polite, friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: All seem to be the same

“Good value hotel but outside the city centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We had a one night stay at this hotel in a standard room with two double beds. The room was neat and clean without being anything special, and the same could be said about the bathroom. The decor is a little dated, but the room and beds were comfortable and quiet, and for the price paid the hotel offers excellent value for money. The location of the hotel is probably the only drawback. It is a 10 minute walk to Kilburn Park station, and the streets between the hotel and station were quite dark and isolated at night. A more convenient option to get to Central London is by bus, with frequent services to Marble Arch and Oxford Street running from the bus stop only 50 metres from the hotel. The Kilburn Park area in which the hotel is located is a little dingy and lacks the vibrancy and atmosphere of central London, but the hotel itself offers good rooms and service and is a good value option for a short stay in London.

“Good option just off the beaten path...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Fairly new Marriott will look quite familiar to anyone that stays at Marriott hotels in the US - Modern, up-to-date with plenty of room.

The location in Kilburn seems a bit odd - but with just a few block (5 minute walk to the) Kilburn Park Tube Station, you are just a few stops from Paddington and a couple of more to Bond/Regent Street - A lower price typically than very central London more than makes up for this. On the plus side when you walk to the Tube station there is a Starbucks just up the street on Kilburn High Street - Perfect for a morning coffee and quick snack while taking the tube to where you need to be (there's also a quick stop grocery store nearby as well if you need some snackies to take back to your room)

And while the hotel has a decent bar - the food in it was absolutely terrible - seemed to be frozen food service stuff just microwaved up - the beer and drinks were fine (hard to screw that up) but the food was so bad I didn't even want to try the Italian restaurant also on site so can't comment on that.

I would though recommend the Queen's Arms just across the street for good beer and better than average pub food - couldn't get enough of this place.

Finally for those that like to go for a nice run - head down to the Regents Canal where you can run for miles on the tow path all the way to the Thames or around Regent Park.

Room Tip: Seems like the rooms along Kilburn Priory have additional radiators for pounding out more heat on co...
