“Nowhere near as bad as the reviews”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

After reading some of the reviews on here, i was dreading arriving at the hotel for my weekend away.
First impressions from the outside was it looked neat and tidy.
The receptionist was friendly, and gave us directions to where to catch the tour bus.

The room was quite small, but enough to hold a double and single bed, with enough room to walk about too. Only downside was i couldn't watch the TV from the single bed. Beds were comfortable too. The beds were made for us each day and the bin emptied and towels replaced with clean dry ones.

Tea and coffee were plentiful, with whitener instead of milk.

Bathroom was smallish, but again there was enough room to shower and dry yourself off afterwards.

The door lock took a bit of getting used to, as was remembering to leave the key at reception each time you go out.

The "continental breakfast" consisted of toast and cereal, i'm not sure which continent only eat them! Not to worry, there was a Wetherspoons 5 minutes up the road towards Victoria Station.

“Absolutely disgusting hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011 via mobile

Obviously when booking this hotel as I would never of booked it if I had! When we arrived at the hotel we could check in until 2pm so we left our luggage in the reception area where anyone could of took them luckily there was nothing valuable left! Reception area was just a taste of hat the rooms were like! We were based at the tudor inn opposite in a tiny room with 3 single beds squeezed in the bathroom was in a room no bigger than a closet! Everything was dirty shower curtain had mould didn't even want to touch the carpet it was that dirty! The beds were damp making you feel really wet! Not one thing about this room was nice! When we went over to complain the man said what do you want me to do knock the wall down and rebuild it! During tge night at 5am the people oppetsite got back and our door actually opened for them!!! They didnt come in and very quickly shut it however this could have been very different! They were very rude and couldn't care less about helping the customer! The lady on the desk however was very polite but she was only there once. I certainly would nit reccomend this hotel to anyone it's a 2 star but shouldnt even be that! No matter how cheap this hotel is nothing is worth than staying on these conditions! DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!

“A place to rest your head.”

After we had booked this hotel, I found this sight and read the reviews, I was horrified to read some of them. In fact I cried for days before we actually arrived here, as I didn't want to go, however we had saved a long time for this holiday. We had also spent a fortune on all the attraction tickets, so didn't want to lose all our money from not going. At 1st glance we were very shocked to see how run down this place was.. The room we had was in the basement.. ROOM 3 .Very small , my husband stood in the middle of the room , put his arms out and was able to touch both walls at the same time.. The on-suite was extremely small. When getting into shower you had to leave bathroom door open, get into shower then close, bathroom door before you closed shower door. The carpets could have done with a good clean. The kettle flex didn't reach the socket, so I had to sit on the bed holding it until it had boiled. We soon got used to it. However this is all the negative stuff about this place. The staff were very friendly & helpful. In fact we spent many a night, after returning to hotel, about 9:30 ish. Downstairs chatting to the night clerk. Whom we became very good friends with before we left. The bedding was changed everyday. Including the towels, which we never used, as we had taken our own.The bin in room was changed everyday as well. The room didn't smell. Big plus was we didn't have any bedbugs, or any other insects sharing our room or using us for a meal as we slept. We were close to all the attractions, short walk to the tube station. We never had breakfast at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. Instead we went every morning to a local cafe, just outside Victoria coach station. To have a full English for £5 each. I said last year on leaving that I would go back here as long as we could have the same room. We are returning in a few days to London, unfortunately we couldn't get rooms again here, as this time we are taking our youngest boy with us, so no room. This hotel is okay after a long day trailing around London, just to have a shower, then bed, to sleep before another hectic day. At the end of the day, we only wanted somewhere to sleep with clean bedding, that wouldn't break our budget etc. We got exactly what we paid for.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2011

i booked 2 rooms at this so called hotel without ever thinking to read any reviews the room they gave to my daughter and her husband was in the basement and it was like tip and i had to go up 3 flights of stairs to my room which was just as bad ,my daughters room was so bad that when she had a shower the water would not drain so in started pouring into the room ,when i complained i was told what do i want from a " budget hotel" i was disgusted and how are these people allowed to get away with it the paint was flaking the carpets were filthy the beds well i would not look beyond the sheets as i didnt want to get any more shocks i had to get drunk in order to go back and sleep in that pit this "hotel" should not be open to the public and how they get a licence to run it amazes me, someones in someones pocket!.

Room Tip: there is no roome fit for humans

“Worst Hotel i have ever stayed in!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

This hotel is the worst hotel ever... DO NOT stay here. My friend had arrived before me and text to say "don't get your hopes up for a nice place".... When i arrived i made my way through the narrow corridor to my basement room next to the breakfast room. It truly was the most filthiest room ever. We put our towels on the floor to save walking on the carpet... i asked for an extra towel to shower (only to be told they do not provide extra towels). The bathroom was filthy, the walls had dirt on them, the bed was sunken in the middle so i slept only for a couple of hours. The room was noisy, the outside world felt like it was beside my pillow, the breakfast room was so loud it woke me up at 6am when they were setting up. The curtains and net curtain were black with filth...... Trust me, you can get better for the same price!
