“Fawlty Towers does exsist.!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

I booked a double superior deluxe via the net thinking what a good deal.We arrived to be taken to the lower ground floor where we found the underground was by our windows, there was only half a shower door,no light covers in the bathroom, curtains that didnt fit and god only knows what was on the carpert!!.The hotel was fully booked so had to spend the night with pillows in our ears.We were moved after speaking to the helpful manager.I explained and he offered 10% of our bill. The next room was the smallest box room with a double bed in.My girlfriend could turn on the tv with her foot from the bed it was that small. Our room that we were given was nice and comfortable and bigger.Very little tube noise.Only two members of staff were nice. The lady on the desk was mute and not helpful at all.Breakfast was gorgous, well worth staying just for that.Avoid at all costs because i came for a romantic break and we left totally knackered with tired eyes.We laugh about it as we feel we have stayed at Fawlty Towers.

Room Tip: Dont but if you stay then get a room on the top two floors.

“old 4 star”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

The first impression is the hotel is very little. The room was not bad, is enoght great, but is resetted summary. No 4 star facilities. The bed is uncomfortable, the breakfast is in another structure in the opposite side of the road, very bad if it's rainy. The staff is nothing of special, not very helpfull and they pretend not to understand if you do not speak English well. The only two very good is an african girl at breakfast and the night front office man.

“Awful!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

I checked in here for new years, on seeing the room was not impressed.
Had a crack in the window and a socket was hanging off the wall so requested to be moved.

Once moved was next to a train line and a chimney of some kind, so requested to be moved again and was meant to be a superior room, this room was tiny. One the cupboards with the iron in could hardly be opened, the entrance to the room was hard to get in, sockets were lose or hanging from wall, you couldn't get past one another in the room as was so small, the bathroom you could have one person in, so small you had to stand on the toilet to get in the shower. Again this room was next to the train line, but at this point I had given up as no one there really understood me (English was not spoken well) and no one was really helping.

No at all impressed.

“Not what we expected..avoid!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We booked a "Superior Deluxe Double" at the Kensington Townhouse via lastminute.com.

When we arrived it was documented we had 2 double rooms booked, after explaining that I had in fact booked 1 "Superior Deluxe Double" they amended their details, saying something to do with the server had occured.

The room we were offered was in no way "Superior" or "Deluxe", in fact although it was a Double room this purely accounted for the fact it had a double bed in the room, there was not really enough room for 2 people to move comfortably around the room without squeezing past each other.

The room also looked out onto an old air con vent and the railway track .Each time a train went past (which was often) the whole room shook.

I approached the hotel staff and they told me they were nearly fully booked but offered me a front facing room away from the track, however this room was even smaller and had a shower rather than the requested bath.

Most of the staff were pleasant enough however the woman who greeted us did not smile the entire stay.

The hotel information was on a scrappy piece of paper in a draw. There was an iron burn mark on the carpet and the bathroom tiles were cracked.

The bathroom sink did not drain properly and the shower had no force at all!

On our last day I was shocked to discover ants in the bathroom too!

After a long journey we wanted to relax and enjoy our time away but sadly this wa not the case.

I would rather stay in a travel lodge or premier in than return to the Kensington Townhouse!

Room Tip: Do not have room 302!
