“Lovely, Warm & Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Lynne and Rob are two of the most charming and nicest people you will ever meet. I guarantee you will find a welcoming house, with a lovely warm atmosphere.

Downstairs, is the breakfast room. Full cooked breakfast through the week, and a continental breakfast at weekends. There is a TV in there too, and a payphone, and a selection of games and puzzles and books, to help pass time on a rainy afternoon.

The bedrooms are lovely, and spacious. I stayed in the twin room, which has a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a hand wash basin and a lovely large bay window. The room was very clean and tidy, and lovely and warm. Extra pillows and blankets are stored in the wardrobe if you feel chilly on a night, although I never had use of them.

The bathroom is on the same floor as the bedrooms, lovely shower over the bath.

On the landing, outside the bedrooms, there is a table which has a fridge to keep things cold, and fresh milk in there daily.

No smoking rooms, you need to go outside to smoke.

Lovely place, only a 10 minute walk from Hither Green Station and I would recommend this to anyone

Room Tip: The twin room is nice and large, the single rooms is smaller, so for an extra £10 I would recommend...

“feeling like home”

Lynne and Rob gave me a very warm welcome in their bed&breakfast. The rooms where very clean, tidy and cosy. I had everything that I needed and when I wanted more, I could always ask. They gave me information about the time by which the churches in the surrounding would start and also invited me to come with them to their own church.
It really felt like home!

“Wonderful Stay”

Spent a week in Lynne and Rob's lovely home and enjoyed every minute. They were very friendly and willing to provide any advice or information needed.

I stayed in the Blue room, which is a single room. As the website shows, the foot of the bed is against the wall, but unless you are very tall and sleep ramrod straight, it shouldn't be a problem. The room is narrow, but long so overall you have a fair bit of space. The bathroom is shared, though the family bathroom is available if that one is occupied. Everything was clean and neat.

The B&B is just a few hundred yards from Hither Green rail station. From there you can be at London Bridge station in about 15 minutes, and Charing Cross is just a few minutes more. Either of those offer access to the underground to get around the city. Get a travelcard for zones 1-3, it's cheaper in the long run and you don't need to worry about tickets. The trains run throughout the day, though they can get crowded during rush hour and you may find yourself waiting for the next one.

Hither Green isn't the fanciest town I've seen, but I never felt unsafe, even returning late at night from London. There are several nearby eateries (Try the Bengal Brasserie) and shops for anything you might need.

If there's any downside to Manna House, it's that it is located to the south east of London. That's fine for central London, and is great for places like Greenwich and Cannary Warf, but visiting the western end of the city means a journy across the city and the extra travel time that goes with it. Manna House offers good rates and excellent value for money though, so the extra travel may well be worth it.

“Home away from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

This b&b was an absolute delight to stay in...very handy to Hither Green Train Station and access from the M25 was very easy. Was so great to have space for our car out the front. Lynne was an excellent host and the pink room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were great with plenty to choose from. I would recommend this establishment to anyone wanting to stay in home like surroundings with caring and friendly hosts.

“clean B&B with a great host”

Lynne is one great host -she was very helpful and accomodating. The room was kept nice and clean every day. The hot breakfast was delicious. We had to rush out some mornings, but Lynne always packed us good & nutritious food to go. The train station to different attractions is just a short walk away. Thank you for making our stay in London so pleasant!
