“Stay Here!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

In the interest of full disclosure I wrote a very negative review a few months back. The manager of the hotel sent me an e mail and asked that I give it another chance. Wow! what a difference. Gone was the surly staff replaced by friendly and welcome greeting at reception. The large rooms were now expertly cleaned by a much more attentive staff and no strange alarms going of in the middle of the night. Noticeable improvement in the very comfortable lobby lounge area where servers actually seemed to notice you and provide very attentive service. It was like the entire hotel had had a giant attitude adjustment! When you combine this with really large rooms and well stocked bathrooms and a great location withing walking distance to covent garden and the west end and very reasonable rates this place is a winner!! I can tell you with this transformation I will be staying here from now on!! Only one small criticism..PLUGS! There arent enough empty wall plugs for todays techno world. I would suggest putting additional extension sockets in each room on the desk.

Room Tip: try and get as high up as you can..the view across the rooftops is great and the noise from Theobald...

“A good return !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This time, we were 6 families to have a holiday in London !
In my book, I had asked that all got together on the same floor, in rooms side by side !
When we arrived, everything was perfect, as I wanted !
The hotel´s security is perfect. The breakfast was included and it was delicious !
Our kids loved the pool !
And us, the parents, had some time to have some rest !!!
Special thanks to Ricardo Felipe, the kindly manager that borned in South Africa, but speaks portuguese very weel !!!!
Once again, everything was perfect ! Thanks.

“Good but room for improvment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Great location for central London, you can walk to Oxford Street in 5 mins and the fantastic British Museum is just around the corner. The hotel is looking a little tired in places, the rooms are fine but the public areas could do with a bit of a facelift. Have previously stayed at the Grange St Pauls which is much nicer but the location is not as good for the west end so you can't have it all! Did not use the pool or gym but that would be a good plus point if you were staying a few days. We paid less than £100 direct on the hotel website, you may get it a little cheaper on other websites or as a last min.com top secret hotel but that rate will not include breakfast and the breakfast here is very good. The room was on 9th floor with nice view over the city, a little on the small side (But most rooms in London are small). If you can get a good rate it is well worth staying here. Staff were top class very efficient and helpful without being in your face.

Room Tip: high floors

“Decent hotel, good facilities”

Stayed for a business trip. Really easy find from Holborn Tube station. Good welcome. Professional service. Clean room. Good food. Very friendly for lone female travellers as the bar is nice and open plan. Free internet access a very nice touch.

I asked for a quiet room, they provided a brilliantly quiet room away from elevators/street noise. Felt that the hotel really understood my needs.... and provided!

Plus point. The gym is great. Complimentary towels and juice. I had the pool/sauna to myself for the best part of an hour.... divine!

Room Tip: Ask in advance for a quiet room as I understood that the traffic noise was bothersome on lower floor...

“First class stay in London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Booked two rooms one for my friend and his wife from Blackburn, and one for me and my wife. Men going to Wembley Stadium for the evening. The ladies going to a show in London W1. Arrived in the early afternoon, booked in as did our friends, very quick and efficient service and extremely good rooms two Queen size beds in rooms with sofas etc aswell. Great TV Mini-Bar, all the tea making facilities, and trouser press, safe etc. all that was needed and more.Came back late evening had drinks in the bar, looked after extremely well super service etc. Next morning after a good nighs sleep and rest went down to the first floor restaurant, for a great breakfast meal , looked after very well, my guests thought exactly the same.Checked out after taking an early lunch which was extremely good. Also parking within five minutes walk which was very good. Overall a first class experience will certainly go back when next in town Paul and joan Bennett

Room Tip: ask for a room in the front, with Queen size beds if you can get them.
