After much concideration I booked this hotel and sent them a message as it was my husband birthday weekend and I wanted to pamper him a little.... NO response!
I should have realised how poor this place was going to be when we had to check into this 'family run b & b' 3 doors down the road! reception was shabby, when i asked what time the bar opened he said it was closed because it cost them money to have someonw serve! they advertise this hotel and family run with bar etc etc... what a crock! our double room was a tiny triple, no hot water and no toiletries (not even loo paper) really really dissapointed. My husband was livid. We handed our room key back and left within 20 mins. I managed to find a best western a 4 min walk away. they were £196 for thur, fri & sat night. £16 more expensive but a million miles away from the Admiral! Do not reccommend this 'motel' unless your a dirty old man wanting a room for the evening! Chaps in local bar said its well know because you can rent a room for a couple of hours! need I say more. Not our sort of thing. Happy to sacrifice the first nights cost so I could leave!
