The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the location. I suppose you get what you pay for, but it wasn't that cheap. You can cope with the decor being a bit tired already but the service was appaling, especially front of house which is where they should be best. The staff clearly resent their job and are treated badly by management who are in it just for the money. Surly and rude are just two words I would use to describe them. Lots of staff walking around in black suits obviously not achieving very much. I had read some of the trip advisor reviews before going and chose to ignore them. Silly me. Never again.

Went on business trip - booked 8 rooms and upon arrival was told rooms had been cancelled by Agency we booked through BUT they did have rooms available.

My room had no iron or hairdryer so I asked at reception for them ASAP. 45 mins later & 3 more calls to reception they arrived.

Bath shower attachment came on when you turned on bath taps and you could not shut it off.

No extractor fan so mirror in bathroom useless.

Full length mirror on wardrobe door was on the wrong door on the inside so unless you got in the wardrobe the door did not open enough for you to see.

No cold beer in bar. Warm bottles and an ice bucket.

Gave my room number for bar bill but waitress asked a man to sign for me although it was clearly my room.

Reception did not seem to have a clue about anything apart from one poor girl.

When some colleagues turned up (remember I said rooms were available) they were turned away & had to find alternative accomodation with hardly any time during Chelsea week.

We will NOT be booking there again !!!

All the pictures looked great but the hotel quite clearly wasn't! The paint was peeling off the bedroom ceiling, there were no toiletries as you would expect in a 4* hotel (just a sachet), the room was small, the mini bar didn't have booze in it and the table lamp didn't work! Breakfast was also very poor and not an enjoyable experience. How it got 4* is beyond me!!

ok, so this is the £24.00 deal for two afternoon tea and cocktails in a teapot - first there is no teapot so don't expect one. We were ok with cocktails although I know others have complained they weren't very good. Lots have already negatively mentioned the quality of the food etc but you have to remember it's all reflected in the price and to keep it all in perspective.

The service was reasonable, everyone was friendly and professional - no one made us feel un welcome. Yes, they pack 'em in on this deal in the room and you do feel like a contortionist getting in and out of your seat a space is limited... but everything is well presented and clean.


Why 4 stars if I'm not raving about how fantatsic it was? Well for the price we paid and for what it was it was good enough. We had great company in each other and that was more important than the quality of the afternoon tea. Had I been charged £60.00 the recommended price I would have felt very ripped off. My friend thought, for the price, it was very good and I thought it was ok.

Would I do this same deal again? No, probably not but I couldn't say to others it's so terrible don't do it. I personally would pay more and get better quality elsewhere .. but for £12.00 each at Tophams with Groupon I really can't complain.



The feel and decor of the hotel was very nice and it was a pleasent few hours, it wasn't rushed but it was over subscribed and busy.
