Friendly enough greeting from from desk.Allocated room 108 (i think). The room was in the basement area and although reasonably spacious we were below ground level and the window appeared to be covered from the outside, maybe by building work.We felt quite claustraphopic and asked whether they had any other twin rooms, they said that they didn't but had a queen bedroom that we could have at no extra cost.Allocated room 315 - very small and with a very small double. All newly decorated and clean though with OK bathroom. The main problem was the draught from the window. It was minus 6 C outside and for the first time ever I had to wear a T shirt in bed.Tip;if you are unfortunate to get this room make sure that you get the side of the bed away from the window. Some traffic noise and humm from heater/aircon? unit outside.
Breakfast wasn't perfect.Given a table i noted that the butter had already been half eaten, the milk had been drunk too. I also had to swap the sugar container as it was smimming with water/tea and the sugar had partially dissolved.I also didn't like the fact that there were 2 loaves of bread, i breadknife and 1 paper bag.I don't mind sharing with family or friends but this did seem rather unhygienic.
All staff especially the cleaners were really friendly.Nice area too, close to Tube station, museums and Albert hall + bars/restaurants etc.
