It was a great place to stay. It's in a super convenient area, close to shops and cafes, as well as the Underground stations. The beds were comfortable, and though the floors were a bit squeeky (and the walls a bit thin), the building has great character and charm! We loved it!

Kensington Gardens Hotel is a small, very traditional hotel in London. There are no lifts, so be prepared to carry your luggage. The rooms are clean but very small, with no cable tv or A/C, so be prepared in the summer. The employees are very nice and helpful. Next time I'd probably stay at the sister hotel, Best Western Phoenix which offers more American amenities.

My recent stay at this hotel was quite pleasant. I booked by trip through Expedia and thus got perhaps the worst room in the hotel. The room was at the very top of the hotel and did not have an en suite bathroom. The bathroom was outside my door and down about five steps. However, for the price this was not too much of a problem. The staff was very nice at the hotel and at the sister hotel next door where you have to get your key after 6pm. The only real complaints I have are that there was not really anyone on duty who could help me with my luggage and it was quite a haul to carry my suitcases up the 80+ stairs to my room. The other complain I have was there there was no way to get fresh coffee in the room. There were little coffee makers but they were no substitute for being able to get a cup of coffe with condiments in the room. The breakfast is actually served in the sister hotel next door and the coffee there was pretty terrible. The location was great and there was free wi-fi at the sister hotel if you wanted to go over there for it. Apparently this is not the case with many London hotels so that was a luxury. I wish it would have been possible to get the wi-fi in the room or at least in the actual hotel rather than the one next door. I would recommend this hotel if you do not have a problem with stairs or the size of your room. The price was reasonable and as I said the location was terrific. The hotel itself is very quite as is the neighborhood. If you read the website description you should know there is NOT any room service available.
