Having read this is the Corus flagship I had high expectations but frankly the hotel was something of a disappointment. The room rate was not cheap and hence I was not expecting to have to be as forgiving as the hotel demanded. The room was tiny, with a double bed (with mattress cover) pushed right up against the sash window from which there was a cold draught which kept me up on the first night. The desk arrangement was quite good although the chair was terrible - looked like a decorators chair that had been left behind, tatty, damaged and paint marks all over the plastic cover. Worst of all was the shower, I am not tall but it was a nightmare to get into the shower (no bath) and once in there was hardly room to move, the height of the shower meant that even I had to bend over in half of the shower as there was no headroom whatsoever - I am amazed that this is even allowed, this can only have scraped through health and safety! There was a notice saying mind your head, it should have said 'don't bother'. The actual shower itself was not that bad, lots of warm water and good pressure but far, far too small and the ceiling height was a joke. The food in the hotel wasn't that bad I may even return for food, but not to stay given this experience...a real disappointment.
