I've stayed at Mercure Paddington last month, for 3 nights, and I loved this place.The room was a bit small,but very comfortable and clean, not noisy at all, maybe because it was on the fifth floor. The staff was surprisingly friendly and courteous, and always smiling. The porters were very helpful and another good thing is that I could leave my luggage in the hotel for some hours meanwhile I had the Bus Tour through London. The breakfast was served in Garfunkel, unlike other restaurants in the area the food was fresh and well done. The hotel is situated 2 minutes from Paddington station and it took me 10 minutes to get to Oxford Street, the location of the hotel is perfect. In overall, I can say it was a great holiday! I will definitely get back to them for my next holiday, I really felt like being home!

Had an online reservation but the staff couldn't find it i was made to pay twice and they don't wont to give me a refund on the online booking the staff were unbelievable rude and each time you try and speak they cut you off in mid sentence absolutely bad service service

I've stayed in several Accor hotels around the UK and was anticipating a pleasant stay. The room was tiny and I had to keep moving my luggage around the floor to get in and out. The TV signal kept cutting in and out. The hairdryer didn't work. Poor value for the price paid.

The Paddington area is known for its small, rather old and expensive hotel rooms.
The Mercure London Paddington is very well located, just next to the Paddington station and
the 'small' (even close to tiny) rooms from the typical Paddignton hotel applies. With the typical Mercure comfort items, one may call it 'compact' rather than 'snall'. The rooms are clean but carry here and there the signs of age. I had a room on the 3rd floor where water pressure was just high enough to let the water drip out of the shower (no pressure).
The personel was friendly but showing my gold A-club card didn't yield an extra welcome or smile nor a suggestion for a different room.
Breakfast is OK, half self-service, half table-service (which was friendly) but nothing that encouraged me to say it was a great start of the day.

Summarising: pricewise it's acceptable for the area, my room was really small (good for 1 or 2 nights), professional personel but of all Mercure hotels I have been in, this one ranks at the low side.
