we stayed at the kingsway hall twice now, first time was wonderfull, second was not as good. we upgraded to a higher room at the cost of £40 per night. we had booked on line and had booked for b & b. the room we got had the following probs, bathroom door was hanging off, TV did not work for the first night and had to wait untill next day. and door lock was not working well and jamming. the staff delt with it as soon as they could but still not what we wanted from that priced room. then when it came to the end of my stay the hotel charged me a complete diff price from my booking!!!!!! from £139 per night not including VAT to £222 per night, a total price of nearly £450 when i was booked at £398 including brec and tax?? needless to say it ruined our weekend. not sure if this is a one off prob and not sure if we will return which is a shame as we go to london a lot.

This hotel is really easy to get to on the tube, just across the road from Holborn. It's a short walk to the restaurants and night life of Covent Garden, Soho etc, in a pleasant part of London. I last stayed in November 2011.

I have often stayed here through work at short notice, where I am obliged to book via a travel agent, with a cap on the amount per night. This hotel is obviously wise to this kind of arrangement, and always shows up as cheapest in London, despite the fact it's clearly not. The price quoted via the travel agent is always without breakfast or VAT, so it's a good deal more expensive than that when you actually pay. There is no continental/express breakfast option, so my bowl of cereal works out around £20 plus VAT.

Breakfast is served in a windowless room, with lots of small tables close together, which is a bit depressing. It can feel like rows of businesspeople sitting exams, rather than eating. Sometimes they are slow bringing tea, when I just want to breakfast quickly and get to work.

The rooms themselves are perfectly comfortable 3.5 star standard.

Stayed here in October for a week long business trip. Great location as it is about 2 blocks from the Holburn Metro station. Also has lots of restaurant options within a couple blocks of the hotel. Hotel has great customer service.

I stayed here with my daughter as part of a theatre break and was delighted. The room was spacious and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and pillows soft and fluffy ( which I love!!). The breakfast was excellent with good choice and hot food served in a spacious restaurant.
The location is excellent within walking diatnce of the tube and close to covent garden itself where you can find excellent restaurants and bars.
Overall I would highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting London.
