“not perfect, but close to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

Very nice hotel, in a beautiful location, close to Earl's Court tube station on Piccadilly line (which makes it very accessible from Heathrow - 40 minutes, no changes), very comfortable room with nice touches (such as the floor heating in the bathroom), free and working internet, very friendly staff.

The only thing I didn't find perfect was the breakfast. Probably because it was so much advertised for by the hotel, I expected more. It was instead quite standard, most of the food being standard even for cheaper London hotels I stayed in. Well they did have some French cheese and some fish which I do not remember seeing in the cheaper ones, but still for a 4 stars +, that is not out of the ordinary. The annoying 100 ml juice glasses were there as well and I will keep complaining about that for every hotel using them.

And of course, blocking money on my card, as most hotels do. K+K George is doing the same. Stayed there on 2-3 February, paid upon check-out, it is 15 February and the guarantee money are still blocked, because the hotel fails to withdraw the order with the bank.

One more thing: at the reception, there is a plaque with the TripAdvisor rating :)

Dear Ontheroadsrl,

Many thanks for choosing to stay with us at K+K Hotel George during your recent trip to London and also for taking the time to write "an almost perfect review". Your comments and feedback are crucial in order that we continue to further develop our performance.

Thank you for pointing out about your credit card being blocked. We get a pre-authorization on your card upon checkin. Following your departure, we process the charge and contact our bank to release the guarantee. This takes 3 - 5 working days. Any further delays are due to the card issuing bank.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Sincerely

Colm Kelly

“Everything a hotel should be!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I spent 2 nights at the K+K last week with my 11 year old daughter and we both enjoyed the hotel very much. The K+K lives up to expectations and delivers "exactly what it says on the tin"!

We checked in mid-afternoon and were able to look at a number of different rooms in both the room categories - classic and executive. The difference between the two categories is the executive room provides a larger seating area, robes, slippers, a fruit basket and water. I believe the difference in price to upgrade was £30 per night. We decided on a regular room on the 5th floor, with a view of the beautiful gardens, which was perfect for us.

I am, by reputation, a hotel snob and I was dubious that the K+K would not live up to expectations but it really surpassed them. The room was very small, but perfectly equipped with tea/coffee facilities, a large safe - big enough for a laptop and other valuables, a full wall closet and a really comfy bed. The tv has a whole host of channels to choose from and a helpful on-screen tv guide. The windows all opened, the heat/air was easily controllable and the power shower was great. I did not hear a sound from another room or from the corridor in the entire time we were there.

The communal breakfast room is very pretty and well set, looking onto the gardens. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice, including meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals and hot food. It also included champagne, juices and you can pick up your choice of a free (local or International) newspaper on the way in to eat. On both days we ate a late breakfast and the breakfast room was not busy at all.

On check-in we were given 2 free drinks vouchers which we cashed in late one evening in the bar area. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable and a fire had been lit in the fireplace. The hotel also has a 'business' room with 4 computers and 4 printers for guest's use as well as a small, but well-fitted gym and a sauna.

The K+K hotel is exactly what a hotel should be. Everything works perfectly - the lifts (elevators), the free wifi, the computers, the tv, the air-con, the staff are polite and friendly and the surroundings are modern yet 'London-style' at the same time. Contrary to my initial doubts about staying in this small London hotel, I was truly sad to leave and really look forward to another visit soon!

“Top hotel in Top location”

Although not the cheapest Hotel on our recent trip, it would have to rate the best. Perfect location just arond the corner from Earles Court station in a quite street, lined with magnificent buildings. Close to the main shopping strip with all a traveller would need. The Hotel rooms while not huge were lovely and clean with a bowl of fruit and bottled water on arrival. Wi Fi was fast and reliable and the Hotel computures which we used for printing were in a nice secluded area downstaris. Breakfast was a magnificent start to the day and the staff were extremely helpful and always had a smile on their faces. It has a lovely litte bar area to rest after a hard day touring and shopping. The reception staff could not do enough for you, and even had a take away breakfast prepared for us on our early departure.
Would definately stay again.

Room Tip: We sayed on the 3rd floor over looking the quiet street but the rear room over look a lovely garden...

“A perfectly fine hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I stayed here with my brother during a five day trip in November. There's a lot to like and little to complain about. First the complaint, wifi was weak and sporadic in the room, but worked fine in the lobby. The room was small - standard fare for most London hotels - but tidy, clean and stylish. The breakfast buffet was generous and very tasty with both English and continental foods. The coffee - very importantly - was good. Very attentive and helpful staff. Earl's Court is not Piccadilly or West End, but it's very accessible by tube and it's a little quieter and lower key than central London. Even so, it has a few interesting restaurants in the area. Bistro Benito on Earl's Court road is a warm, noisy and welcoming place if you're looking for reasonably priced Italian food that is more on the authentic family style side, less fussy. And there is a wrap joint north on Earl's Court Road that makes very tasty, messy wraps to eat in at the counter or takeaway.

“Very nice hotel”

We have been there for a weekend trip in London. This hotel has very nice rooms, small, but even for two adults and one child big enough to enjoy a comfortable stay. Absolutely clean! And the service of the hotel is recommendable. The breakfast buffet is also worthily. - We will book this hotel also next time.
