Stayed at the Holiday Inn, Mayfair in ROOM 401 in February 2012. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel, room and service.
I have mobility issues and asked for a room near the lift so as not to be navigating miles of hospital corridor, and this was done no problem. Only one lift was working (out of 2) so this meant a bit of a wait most of the time but not too much of a problem. Felt safe as access to the room floors required key card access in the lifts.
Reception area is quite small but in a good way, being "posh" and smart, but welcoming, with friendly staff.
Nice room with relaxing, relatively luxurious decor. Nice drapes. Mini fridge, tea & coffee tray, iron & ironing board, hairdryer. Complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Bath with shower over.
Mattress on the bed a little hard for my preference but slept fine and was given a choice of pillow firmness which was a nice touch.
Bathroom was clean. Taps and plugs a little worn though... taps wobbled and moved... plugs didn't drain (had to sit on edge of the bath and force the plug hole open... sat for 15 minutes to drain the bath water out!). A few chips on the tiles but nothing to be too fussy about.
Located very conveniently for the average London sight seeker. Green Park tube station very nearby.
Price was the only let down, as expensive even for a London hotel (got 3 nights in a 4 star luxury hotel was cheaper by about £50 than 2 nights in this hotel was!) Would stay again though (providing I could get a better deal).
