“the best place to stay in Canary Wharf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed here for 6 nights for a business trip and got a good deal: stay 3 pay for 2 nights. That meant 2 free nights. It was worth it to then pay an extra £40 per night to upgrade from a city view to Thames River view room which was lovely to look out onto. Very comfortable room and large bathroom with great bathtub. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Shebul on front door (many thanks for your tips and escorting me to the fitness centre in the dark!)

There is a great Virgin Fitness club beside the hotel on the riverfront, which you get free access to, so skip the hote fitness 'room' and go to Virgin.

Very convenient location for most offices and a handy Pret right nearby for breakfast/lunch on the go. It's also right next to the Thames ferry into the city which was a much better alternative to the DLR/tube. business centre has free internet.

If you find this review helpful, please give it helpful vote. Thanks!

Room Tip: ask for high floor and worth paying for Thames view upgrade

“Perfect post wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We booked this hotel for our post wedding stay as we wanted somewhere to stay after our wedding, away from the children especially since our honeymoon was going to be a month later. We hadn't advised them of the occassion. When we arrived, obviously in our wedding outfits, they brought us two glasses of prosecco, and upgraded our room. A mix-up with our payment was efficiently, professionally and courteously handled by the manager who took it upon himself to show us to our room and give us a run-down of the room. The room had a stunning view of the Thames (thus making what is normally a dirty rivet, look beautiful!). All mod cons of flat screen tv, iPod docking station and lovely L'Occitane bath products. We ate in one of the hotel's restaurant (sorry I've forgotten which one). It was a nice meal which we thoroughly enjoyed and suited the occassion. The service at the hotel was impeccable. A very classy hotel.

“Excellent hotel choice for couples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

My passport is expiring and I needed to go to my embassy in London to sort out a renewal. I have some holidays left and decided to take my wife with me and treat her to a five star hotel. Of course while I am working on my passport I needed to keep my wife occupied, so I made sure there is a leisure centre in the hotel and a spa for her treatments to keep her happy. The Four Season Hotel did exactly that...kept my wife happy.

First, the welcome reception at the desk was spot on. Nikki the receptionist is excellent with her job and the best up-seller that I encountered on frontline. Beware of her selling technics as she will sell you the most expensive room she got and she is very charming so she almost had me buying more than what I needed.

The room we booked for is a standard room with a king size bed. But from my experience the room was more than a standard, it is very special and my wife loved it. She said, it reminded her of the delux hotels we went for in the Philippines, the only thing missing is the jacuzi on the balcony.

We had our meals in the hotel. Breakfast was the best I ever had, Egle recommended the eggs benedict and I was so happy with her recommendation. Egle is so professional, pleasant and looking realy smart - five star service. Breakfast cost us around £60.00 but I did not mind because the experience was worth more than that. Lunch was equally fantastic, of course serve by Egle again. My wife and I had soup and pasta, cost us about £80.00 with drinks, again it was very good food and the best service. Dinner was a different issue. Food was good but the service went down hill because of Fabio's rude remark to me. He said;" I can see you did not eat the bones". It was very unprofessional. Luckily Daniel took over the service and somehow made me calm down and tried to enjoy the remaining dinner experience. I was disappointed because after a very good service from Egle here came Fabio who served us like an untrained, uneducated person. He should retain and polish his social skills. Not the kind of staff I would expect from Four Season Hotel.

OK, dinning experience was excellent except for the Fabio issue. Now, let us discuss transport. The Four Season is far off on my view from the city activity centres. We had to take taxi all the time to go out which cost us around £25 to £30. We were considering to take the tube as from our experience in London it is the fastest way of transport because it is going to skip all the traffic, but to our disappointment no underground station near in site.

I am not going to leave out the leisure and spa treatments which my wife enjoyed so much. The Four Season is affiliated with the Virgin Active leisure centre and it is the best we have ever seen. The Hydro therapy pools (there are three) are the best. My wife stayed in them for two hours. The pool is huge and inhoused in glass walls overlooking the Thames river - fantastic view. The leisure centre itself is enough reason to book the four season hotel on your visit. To top up this fantastic leisure experience we had a couples treatment massage and my wife said it is heaven. Good job Georgina from Spa!

All in all the trip was very good. Sorted out my passport and my wife wanted to go back to Four Season. The only one thing to do now is to save up again for this trip...best experience and we will do it again even if it will cost us. Well worth it.

Room Tip: Speak to Nikki at reception, she will enumerate what is on offer.

“Perfect Escape from Central London”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

person found this review helpful

We stayed here during Christmas for two nights as a city break from visiting relatives in the country, and found it to be an entirely pleasurable experience.

It is about 15 minutes away from Bond Street on the Jubilee Line, and in terms of comfort and noise level it feels like a different continent. At the end of a busy day exploring the city, there was nothing better than retreating to a deserted business district, and the complete silence of a luxurious room.

North American plugs at 110 V were a nice touch, huge rooms by European standards, and access to the Virgin Gym overlooking the Thames with lap pool.

The only downside I could see by staying here would be if you are planning on staying out late at night or doing the theatre etc.

However if you are mostly a daytime person like myself, it is a fantastic retreat from the insanity that is Central London at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the Thames, otherwise you won't have much of a view.

“Great city hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at the Four Seasons for my birthday. My husband booked the room and when they found out it was my birthday the upgraded us to a better view (over the river - just beautiful!). They also had a cake and some special treats waiting in our room when we got there. It's really the little touches that make a huge difference. The room was lovely and a real bargain for a London hotel and a Four Seasons hotel too. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the River Thames
