Took my niece to a concert at the Albert Hall and this was a reasonably priced hotel near to the venue. From the outside it looked very nice but inside was horrible. The reception was shabby and the room we were given was ridiculously small, very hot and there was no floor space. When I opened the window to let some air in the noise from the traffic was so loud - it was clear that there would be a choice between the unbearable heat or terrible din.

We were determined not to make a fuss but when I saw the tiny bathroom and disgusting state of the shower I immediately called reception and complained. In fairness they immediately gave us a room in the basement - this was much bigger - two double beds! - the bathroom was huge as well. It had a very strange bath unit - with a shower, bath, music, and camera! - and we did achieve a good night's sleep. The next day we went to breakfast feeling quite optimistic. I mean tea and toast - how hard could it be? Well the tea was cold - and I mean stone cold - and the toast was rubbery - we just shrugged and gave up - I was tired of complaining and my niece looked so fed up. We handed the key in and went to find a Cafe Nero.
